Title: Questing Forever

So EQII is F2P now. I know enough people have mentioned it / been playing it that I'm surprised there's no thread going yet.

So far it feels a lot different from what I remember, but most of that is probably just due to standard free player lock-outs. Seems like a one time five dollar throw-down gets you most of the basic content, then you can either go for a standard subscription or just buy individual class / race / area / item unlocks if you don't want everything.

I'm currently Pilcrow (Ampersand, Ellipsis, Asterisk and Tilde were all taken) on Nagafen, the only PVP server.

THIS THREAD IS BETTER, also, sorry I didn't know about the other one. Classic made it so I just ignored it.

There's the thread I thought we already had. Oh well, it didn't turn up in a Search of "Everquest II".

Also I realized that part of the reason the game feels different is because they changed the character models in 2006 to some super lame Korean designs that give everyone anime features.


Also also without paying for anything you only get three of the twenty races and eight of the twenty-five classes. Without the five dollars you only get two bags, none of your class' best abilities, and can't talk in anything but party and local.

Maybe it's because Roman numerals are for rubes.

I noticed those "features" and got a bit turned off. Also doesn't help that for whatever reason, a machine from 2009 refuses to load polygons and textures in quick order.

I'm guessing BB can invoke Threadposter Privilege and say Nagafen.

It's literally the only PVP server and thus only one worth being on.
