Do you know what the best kind of crash and exception you can have in your Xcode objective C project is? It's the kind where Xcode decides to completely invent one where there isn't one and then point you to a line that makes no sense for the exception to be thrown there. Then after 20 minutes of thinking you are crazy you just close Xcode and reopen the project and WOAH the crash is MAGICALLY GONE from your app. Amazing!

THANKS Xcode 4, you pile of fucking bullshit.

It's always baffled me why people who have a hard time or don't like living in the safe and secure, easy as shit to live in society we have today, think that they would be BETTER off if all our safety nets and cooperative assistance were taken away.

In the apocalypse you would be tired and too lazy or too stupid to prepare enough to survive for very long in any amount of comfort. Plus some less antisocial people would probaby gang up and kill you at some point.

I guess the grass really is ALWAYS greener for some people.

Just had a delicious dinner than I wasn't really expecting to be all that amazing but it turned out great. Rich's mother had a bunch of vegetables in her garden that needed to be harvested and she gave him so much he didn't know what to do with them. So he gave me a pretty big bag of them, green beans and cucumbers. The cucumbers have been really nice in sandwiches and the beans are really flavourful.

Anyway, I got a stake on sale, boiled up the green beans and some couscous, and then seared up the steak with some mushrooms and cucumber slices in some butter. After the steak was medium rare, I covered it in some tinfoil and deglazed the meat marks off the pan with my last bottle of weihenstaphner weissbier. I threw in some torn up parsley and melted some butter in it and reduced it for a bit, letting the mushrooms and cucumbers sit in it and then poured it all over the steak and couscous. Buttery delicousness.

My phone made the steak look a little pale, but it was actually nicely seared.

I'm pretty sure the wolves are:

The Mad King

There may be others. Like quiet people like Friday say.

Where did he rule it out and how? I don't see such a post. Can you quote or link it or something?

Why the standstill(C4) over the move(E4), Bongo? We gotta get consolidated here to prevent the full time evil bloc from taking the shot.

If you look at the backlog of how people were acting before we knew Cthulu-chan was aa wolf, the most obvious wolf is The Mad King. So I'm guessing the other people voting for D4 are all wolves or fools.

I said D4 in my original post on the matter, but that was a mistake, I meant E4 and corrected it after someone pointed it out.

My vote stands at E4 as I see that or C4 as the most likely places. this D4 vote is a wolf block, people need to not fall for it.

Sword & Shield Fighting (Roland - Hammaborg) - Part I

Are you interested in pretending to be an old thymey sword fighting guy?

Here's interesting lecture on good recreators' extrapolations of viking and saxon style sword and shield fighting. Almost none of this is provable, but I like their attempts to explain a lot of things. Like for instance, why are old round shields flat, instead of conical or curved like the roman shields that preceded them. When you test it, something like a conical shape stands up to a blow from even the biggest weapon of the period where as a standard flat round shield gets smashed to pieces.

Well, probably because they weren't meant to stand up to a direct blow from a dane axe, they were meant for basically shield fencing with your opponent like this, clogging him up and restricting his ability to fight you while exposing him to sword thrusts or slashes.
