Speaking of internal politics, I love (and I'm not being sarcastic at all) that Syria, as terrible as it might be, has pretty much knocked the debate around Obamacare right out of the public conscience.

God Robocop's gun is basically the entire reason I love guns. It pains me in ways you can't comprehend that they're changing it.

The problem with trailers is that they always have the BUZZIEST of buzzword quotes in them constantly. Its a game at work to see which trailer has the most one-liners strung together in a row before someone makes an actual statement, and the somewhat cringe worthy fact is the vast majority of trailers for non-animated movies are COMPLETELY made up of one-liners.

I think he means actual profit. I don't know who they fucked over (probably the animators) but they made a computer animated movie for about 75 million dollars. It's hard to make a live action movie for that much. Now tack on all the stuff you're talking about and you can easily see why what he said might be true.

Quote from: IMDB Plot Blurb
From the dealer to the narcotics officer, the inmate to the federal judge, a penetrating look inside America's criminal justice system, revealing the profound human rights implications of U.S. drug policy.

What how?

Its about the American drug war, so none? About fifteen seconds where he explains that most normal Americans believe that the drug war is fought in different countries. The movie is about how the drug war and laws surrounding drugs in AMERICA are designed to put poor, mostly minority, people into prison for a long long time. Some of the best interviews are from Federal judges and prison guards who went into their respective fields with all the best intentions and are now disenfranchised with it to the point that... well that they'd be in a Documentary about the drug war.

The House I Live In is a documentary on the drug war. It's on netflix instant watch right now and it's well worth the watch. It'll probably depress the shit out of you, but again, it's worth it.

I think the way you should be looking at this ted is that she presented herself in a way that made people from even this fairly well adjust group of gamers believe that she was an outsider looking in. Perhaps you believe she isn't, perhaps she ACTUALLY isn't, that doesn't matter if the way she presented herself doesn't illustrate that properly. At most she's not a girl gamer, which is debatable, at the very least her writing and video editing skills are called into question for not achieving the desired argument.

All that being said you have to realize why WE don't think this video series does enough to cause any real 'change'. We ARE a fairly well adjust group of gamers, all our faults taken into account. The bar is set considerably higher for most other communities or gamers out there.

Aisha Tyler is fucking amazing by the way. As far as gamer/nerd girls go in pop culture she's kicking ass and taking names like I don't think anyone has done so far. Now her, I don't mind saying, I find rather fetching, in a manly fashion.

Of course, those of us here who defended her position were, largely, not doing it because we wanted to bang her. I for one, only defended her position until the breadth of her work was there to judge. As it has not conclusively proved anything or put forth any new, valuable or even very coherent arguments, I have stopped defending it. I just wasn't willing to call her completely out of the race until I'd seen everything she had to offer.

Technically even in the link you just quoted it says she'll be researching AND playing hundreds of games, not exclusively playing them. Just saying. This entire series is at a weird place for me. I WANT it to be worth talking about, but I don't feel like it is, after all has been said and done.

I have Dishnetwork tv mostly for my mom. When charter put in my cable internet service the straight up cut the dish cable from the back of my dish that was wired into my room, wired that into my cable access point to give me internet, and left a cut cable sticking out of my dish. I never watch tv and mom's tv receiver is on another cable so it took me like three months to figure this out.

Not true, but he knows my opinion on how he acts. I've told him that I can't keep defending him based upon the person I personally know him to be if he's not willing to be that person at all when he's here, just fyi.
