The 80s fashion that has come back, however, rules.

No, no, I'm pretty sure that 80's fashion is awful no matter what decade it's currently crashing.

Day-glo, Neon, mohawx, platinum blondes, women with flattops, legwarmers, slut stilettos mixed with chopped track suits, outfits half made out of a flag, massively excessive makeup, etc. etc...

Nope, not gonna float my boat. SAWR-EEEE.

It's funny though, I pay more attention to fashion then most folks I know... no idea why. Not the crazy catwalk toadstool-hat stuff, I just find it amusing to observe the trends of what folks on the street are wearing. I've been saying that 80's fashions are back for over six months, and only now do people believe me.

I'm just sort of glad that wearing tight or at least fitted clothes is back in fashion after the eternity of having to wear clothes that were 3 sizes too big to not be a nerd that the 90s until just a few years ago was.

80s fashion wasn't meant to be attractive, it was meant to get your attention.  Like this:

THIS TEXT IS TOTALLY 80s

In response, the 90s was defined by people who actively hated attention, or at least pretended to.

Why the LOOK AT MEEEEEEEEEE fashion statement is only just now coming back into vogue is beyond me.  Probably because people are just now forgetting what the 80s ended up looking like.

Perhaps you're not considering bangs, tights, and stripes.

I just got back from the gym, and I'm not even gonna change out of these clothes before I go shopping!  Radical!

Possibly because... well, nowadays people want other people to pay attention to them.  We've got Facebook, Twitter, reality television, celebrity gossip (although we've had a lot of that before this; it's just that it's kind of ramping up a bit more these days)... your worth is directly proportional to the amount of people paying attention to you at any given time.  Something like that, at least.

I have it on good authority that South Korea is about twenty years behind the rest of the world in terms of fashion trends. So they're syncing up nicely, in this case.

I wouldn't be so sure about that.  Those stupid fade patches on pants that seem popular the last few years were all the rage in SK twelve years ago.

While browsing the Japanese deviantart-like site, pixiv, I found a few awesome IWBTG images which I feel I must share.

Makes a lot of sense in hindsight, actually.

Whoa whoa.

I just noticed that in the background of the one where The Kid has a bloody face, the Error Message from the Ryu Hayabusa room is in Japanese.

That's awesome.

A funny side note, half of the pictures were also tagged with 死にゲー or "Death game*."  Other pictures under this obscure tag were a single Plok fan pic, and a few pictures of a game consisting of a drawbridge and a sea-monster poking it's head up through said drawbridge.

*Could also be "Death Gay" but that's unlikely.

Let me guess.

Say what you want about IWBTG, but I don't think at any point you get instantly vaporized by walking into a door.
