Soda
« on: September 11, 2008, 11:26:26 AM »

It seems jones soda is at it again with some interesting flavors for the halloween season this time. I found them at target and the flavors are lemon drop-dead mummy, Werewolf candycorn which taste....interesting, buried alive pomegranite quite delicious, and spookiwi. They also have some bottled ones but the only one i can remember off hand is dread apple.

I prefer Blue Bubble-gum. Also, people who call it "pop" should kill themselves.

Requisite "I've never tried the turkey" post validating the entire Jones Soda 'weird soda flavors' advertising campaign.

I switched from real soda to diet soda and now real soda is way too sweet for me.  However, people have been yelling at me saying that diet soda is even worse for me because of chemicals.  To them, I say, not when your family has a long history of diabetes.

I got stuck with that bit of genetic weirdness that makes diet soda taste like metal.

for an example of what it tastes like to me, take a handful of pocket-change, stick it in your mouth, then drink soda of choice

Mountain Dew is what I usually drink, but whatever happens to be on sale is most likely what I'm buying.  I used to drink Diet A&W like a man possessed since it tastes closer to the draft stuff you get at the restaurant, but I eventually burned out on it so I only buy it rarely now.

Diet is also quite good, and jones does often have sugar free and it taste exactly the same with no weird taste. However ive been trying to go from regular mountain dew to diet but i find something lacking about the diet that makes me not want to go for the full switch. Also sorry if this was made before in some other weird thread but lack of a food section is one thing i miss.

Edit: Bad grammar on my part, fixed.

When I was in the Navy, I immortalized Mountain Dew as "tasting like man-spooge".

It is a lasting legacy :suave:

Oh, and even splenda has a bit of it, albeit much less.  But splenda makes things taste WAY too sweet to me.

This.

I drink black coffee now.  When fountain drinks are available, I usually go with iced tea.  But the big local movie theater chain only has the crappy raspberry iced tea which is basically sugar water anyway, so I drink Cherry Coke when I go there.

(I'm trying to think why there's a coffee mug in that photo, as I didn't drink coffee then.  Best guess is I drank herbal tea out of it when I was sick.)

(I miss college.)

(And my hair.)

Rarely drink soda pop, so Boylan is the one and only. Vintage glass bottles and none of that corn syrup hooha. Just pure cane sugar (not refined). Flavoring isn't done under some mysterious 'flavor' abstract either, but instead by using oils from fruit. Try the orange flavor first, you'll never go back to Orange Crush.
