Recruiter sites work like this: They list all the jobs they have available; you apply for some of those jobs; then they ignore what you apply for and assign you to whatever shit they feel like.

Today I learned that it's possible to become a certified Christian! I hear the procedure is rather invasive (they drill into your skull to find out if you love Jesus) but apparently the whores are fantastic!

My roommate has performed weddings.  Well, at least one.

(I also performed a wedding once, but legally it doesn't count; I'm not ordained.  In my case it was just ceremonial; they'd picked up the certificate a month earlier.)

I learned that Quake Con is a much more pleasant experience after the approximately two days it takes to actually sit down and play some fucking vidyagames.

Speaking of religion: A fellow I know is an adherent of Astaru, some kind of norse-derived belief system. Apparently he's qualified to perform weddings and funerals and stuff. He also tried to argue on internet forums that Astaru is not a racist religion, even though, y'know, there's that whole "aryan purity" thing backing it up. And Astaru practicioners can put hits on people.

He's pretty much banned from the southern U.S. for this reason.

I can tell you right now that Christian certification won't make it any easier to get a damn job.  People keep expecting to be able to hire comparative religion majors off the street for shit that anyone with a passing knowledge of the New Testament could do.  It's total overkill.

Today, I learned that a cousin of mine, who I have not seen for upwards of 10 years, is now a bisexual libertarian who likes George Carlin. :wat:

George Carlin will never die...  :sadpanda: in our  :wuv: ...

Also, the filth I allow myself to live in is apparently attractive to roaches! Also, trapping one in an old tupperware container and suddenly feeling guilty about the inevitable is my M.O. now.

If in your travels you ever have to record video from a Hauppauge capture device, VirtualDub works pretty well.  Thank you, Sailor Moon fandubbers!
