« on: February 25, 2008, 02:12:45 PM »

I walked an average of 1500 steps a day last week. Shit.

You're going to need to walk a lot more than that if you want to get the Microskirt.

I learned that Iron Lore Entertainment (Titan Quest) is no more and that Michael Fitch has a publicly accessible rant about why.  (Oddly, no mention of online multi-play.)

It is with great regret that we must announce that as of close of business Tuesday, February 19, 2008 Iron Lore Entertainment has ceased active game development. Several unrelated events occurred which resulted in Iron Lore being unable to secure funding for its next project.

"Sweetbread" is not bread, nor is it really sweet sweet.

Luckily this was not a case of me ordering it thinking "ooh sweet bread," more like my dad and his gf like "eat this and don't ask us what it is until later."

It's
cow bits.
Sorta maybe good? But one bite was enough. Probably the type of dish that has to grow on you a bit, if you really want to enjoy it.

Didn't quite sour me on sweetbreads.

But there's an Emily in it. That almost has something to do with something.

In ancient Persia, the customary process for making major decisions had two major steps. First, everybody would get drunk and come to some conclusion. The next day, when they were all sober, they'd reconsider their conclusion; if it still sounded good, they'd go with it. Similarly, when making immediate decisions (while sober), they would subsequently revisit the decisions while drunk.

You should work with me.

Or rather, a bunch of dead Persian people should work with me.

Actually, I almost half want to believe in reincarnation, because I think a bunch of dead Persians are already working with me.

In ancient Persia

Please tell me that this was before the creation and rapid spread of a Muslim empire in the region?

Ahhhhhhhhh! It'd like 7:44 am, but I'm not sure I want to see what comes after the 32 second mark at any time of day  :omg:

Dibs on Xerxes.

Are there people who still give their kids names like Xerxes? It's such a rad name.

That ActionScript loads shit in a seperate thread by default, and keeps on executing.  Which makes sense when you remember that it's supposed to be a movie, but it's difficult to keep in mind when you're just staring at suspiciously C-looking code and expecting it to run sequentially.  And wondering why the guy before you wrote everything in onLoad triggers, which you wouldn't have to think so hard about if he hadn't left it undocumented and scattered all over the place.

I learned that sperm whales get attacked by giant squids (and get really weird, cuplike scars) when they try to eat them for dinners.

I can't stay at home if I want to make any real progress on a coding intensive project.

If I'm going to school and don't have two or three things to choose from to post here every day, I'm wasting my time.
