Wired's Clarke Elegy quotes a handful of sci-fi authors, including professional douchebag Harlan Ellison, who starts off with a tangent about how much he hates the expression "sci-fi". (Which is fair, because Clarke was hardly immune to tangents himself. Did anybody read 3001? Remember the circumcision tangent, or the bit about how people who write viruses are the scum of the Earth?) Best part:
