You are way better off with a silver shovel, in my opinion.  It gives you more bells when you're hitting rocks.  And that's, you know, every time you hit rocks.  Or there's a high percentage it gives you more.  Point is, burying money is throwing it away in my book.

Wow, interesting. Except I actually got the silver shovel yesterday and I'm not actually getting more bells at all? Is there a trick to it?

I dunno, it's just raised chances to get more money.  But at least you wouldn't have a chance to lose money like with the potentially failing money tree.

Turnip price is 127 right now in my town if anyone needs to sell theirs off for a small profit.

THIS GAME IS SO CALMING.

It's like a brain massage.

At first I was all "There's nothing to do!"  And then I was all "There's... nothing to get stressed out about..."

Yeah, except when you're trying to catch a damn coelacanth, and it keeps biting once then swimming away, or you have several hundred thousand in turnips and end up having to sell them for 50 bells each because you forgot to check turnip prices ONE TIME during the week.

Okay, the Thanksgiving Harvest Day stuff in this game is kinda horrifying. The animals - especially the Mayor - are all anxious to devour another sentient animal-person, who is scared out of his mind and is practically having a heart attack.

On the plus side, you can keep trying to earn the Harvest stuff until the event ends. I have so many damn duplicates right now and I don't have all 12 items yet.

Turnips are currently going for 139 bells each in Hoon. Gates are open.

I'm glad you were finally able to sell yours off, but I checked gamefaqs yesterday and sold mine for 370 each.

Also, I'm done with the stupid turkey finding thing... I managed to get 11 of the 12 Harvest items, but I have 19 different duplicate items, so I'll just have to trade someone (probably another random stranger) for a Harvest Bed.

I haven't sold them yet. I'm doing the turkey thing right now. Any tips on selling them on Gamefaqs? I couldn't find any listings the other day.

a pair of conversations with LD:

(after watching LD run around collecting harvest furniture for an hour)
Me: "What do you get if you collect all 12 of them?"
LD: "Then... I'd have all 12."
Me: "..."

(later, the festival ends.)
Tortimer (onscreen): "Oh, no, another year without the main dish."
LD: "Cry about it, you sick son of a bitch."

I couldn't get the sofa or rug or lamp by the time the event ended.  You stupid turnips, keeping me from TT.  I just want those three items and then I can be happy.  And maybe sell these dumb turnips.

You're in luck - I have three extra sofas, two extra rugs, and... I'm not sure about any extra lamps. Do you have an extra Harvest Bed? (I'll still give 'em to you, either way.)

Haha. Cat was getting really mad at the Mayor, too. She kept saying how disturbing the whole thing was and it reminded her of Wicker Man for some reason.

Could you elaborate on this?

The stronger you punch, the better the door. So there are like super strong murderers who punch people into Venetian doors and shit"

The Mayor invited Franklin, a sentient turkey, to the town. His invitation said that he was to be "guest of honor" but Franklin claims that the word "guest" was originally "dish" and was sloppily erased. The Mayor then hands out sets of knives and forks for you to give to all the townspeople, but you're supposed to trade them to the horrified-beyond-belief Franklin for pieces of Harvest furniture. Meanwhile, the Mayor is excited for "the main course, er, guest".

Blanca came over to my town from Emily's town.

I gave her a much better face.

I got the bed last night, so that's okay. I still have an extra sofa and rug you can have.
