Today has the potential to turn into a Shit Day or a Good Times day, but I always like to approach these things with Good Times Feeling.

I get to go chat with the gubbermint and tell them that yes, I am still disabled, no, I don't owe you $5000, and yes, I still deserve my benefits so I may go back to college with that money.

Spent the last few days preparing for this and doing other things.

3 hours until the meeting.

How I'm feeling: It's time to kick ass and chew bubblegum. And I'm all out of gum.

Mention that during the audit.  They may feel sorry for you and give you some gum.

I'm graduating with distinction on June 10th. Does that count for anything?

Two-fold: The $500 overpayment is legit. A system has been worked out where I will no longer get pestered about it. Once I get a paycheck, or benefits, they will take out small amounts until it's paid back.

The $7000 overpayment, however, has a 90% chance of being an error on their part, and the lady I talked to said, quote, "I'll bust some heads" in the afternoon (So, now) to try and get it straightened out ASAP.

End verdict: huge success

When an IRS Auditor threatens to bust some heads you had better just hope they mean that figuratively.

I graduated summa cum laude or whatever the fuck.  Distinction must be your college's way of like...honors or outstanding student awards or some crap.  Do you get to wear a neat honor sash or anything?  All I got was a different colored tassel for my cap and a yellow-blue honor cord for being in Psi Chi.

For the past two years, our balcony had been colonized by pigeons to such an extent that not only could we not even open the door to the balcony, but rusty south american freighters actually pulled up on a monthly basis to mine the rich guano deposists of our 6th floor balcony.

As of today, NO. MORE.

It cost $430 (I only paid half), but the balcony has been reclaimed, cleaned, and netted JUST IN TIME FOR SUMMAH.

WORTH IT.

Next step: Aquiring a barbecue.

Meeting someone you know online is nice.
Meeting someone you know online and get along with online is nicer.
Meeting someone you know online and get along with online and finding out you get along in real life just as well is even nicer than that.
Meeting someone you know online and get along with online and finding out you get along in real life just as well, then making out for like four hours... gosh, I don't think they have a word for it.

If she ditches you for another dude, stick it out for a few weeks.  If he turns out to be a dick, you're SO in.

...Unrelated (except that it falls under "things that have happened in the past week"): caught Flight of the Conchords on Tuesday.

Highlights:
They came out wearing their robot costumes...and then did not play Robots.  At any point.
A cowboy tale called Stana.  You can find it on the Internets, but only as cell phone video.
Freebird.  At first it appeared spontaneous -- a reaction to someone in the crowd shouting it out, natch --, but as it went on it became clear they had done it before.  My roommates later tried to tell me that no it was totally spontaneous.  A look at Google would suggest that they have in fact done it before.  As recently as two weeks ago.
A great way to spend my brother's last evening in Arizona!  Would have been better without the fucking strep throat.

They didn't play Freebird when I saw them a few weeks ago.  I was also disappointed that they didn't play 'Robots' Live.  I don't know if a concert really needs spoiler tags.

Wish I could've gotten tickets to the Flight of the Conchords show near here, but they were sold out and expensive if I wanted to try and get some elsewhere.  On a more positive note, I have tickets to my other favorite band, Ween.  Seeing them with Kazz on July 10 in Portland, ME.  Pretttyyy excited officially.

My dad managed to get one from a scalper out front for only about $10 more than I paid on LiveNation.  And he got a better seat.

But yeah, I was fucking FLOORED by how packed the show was.  I've never seen the theater that full.  Well...maybe that time we saw Neil Young.  But Ringo Starr drew a crowd maybe a fifth of that size.
