Post-Cold War Racism is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO FUNNY

Did you actually see the movie? Because it would be a lot better if you're being deliberately ignorant of Buge's reference - for whatever reason - rather than a case of making an idiotic kneejerk post.

Normally when I start to make half-baked posts, I realize that they are retarded.  I don't think I gave that one enough time in the oven to see that the dough was faulty.

:humpf: The bullets were actually holograms with safety protocols turned off.

...when did he say that?

Anyway, I have faith that the Borg can adapt to kinetic energy as easily as any other form.  Probably moreso because it's pretty much the most basic kind of attack.  And even if they couldn't... they're made of, what, titanium?  With the occasional slab of meat?

Er, Picard mentions that he turned off the safety protocols right after that other chick he's with says "I thought you said this all wasn't real" or something like that.

And yeah, I'm with you on the rest.

It would seem possible.  At a basic level, they can just tell their nanites to reweave themselves into a more damage resistant fabric.  Then they could endure bullets.  But whether that would protect them from just that caliber or if stronger guns could still destroy them would be debatable.

And nerdy.

Given that the Borg seem to adapt to specific phaser frequencies, it would follow that they would probably have to adapt to at least major variations of bullets.

And I don't see why they couldn't use shields to block bullets like everything else. No need for armor.

I think that if all else failed, they should just rig up something to squash them like cockroaches.

If Worf's awesomesword can completely wreck the average Borg, and they never seem to be able to adapt, I'd say shooting a chunk of metal at 3000 miles per hour would be about as well effective.

The idea is that even if they adapt with kinetic sheilding that blocks such attacks, the sheer force will pulp their biologicals. Until such time as they can figure out a way to make personnel-sized inertial dampers.

honestly, even if they WERE weak to awesomeswords, It wouldn't matter. 1v1, sure. Swordvan all you want. When the Borg come, they usually come in dozens, if not hundreds, and all swording is gonna do there is get you assimilated.

The Borg could have developed some kind of anti-kinetic shield but they didn't.

Starfleet could have made a flamethrower or acid super soaker but they didn't.

CORTOSIS WEAVE

Installed Rosen's copy of KoTOR tonight.

My head snapped back when this was mentioned in the tutorial.

Expect to hear from my personal injury lawyer, pizzaface.

How to adapt to bullet damage:

1) Don't have blood. Eliminates death by blood loss and reduces hydrostatic shock.
2) Shield or remove the heart, lungs and brain.
3) Protect the bones from shattering.

basically cover yourself in armor plates.

zombie borgs hmmm

Oh, hey.  It turns out that KGB was originally InfoNXX.  One of their call centers is just down the road from the store I work at; those guys would cash their paychecks with me every other friday.  They changed their name about the time we opened our money center, but since I'm still at the customer service counter I hadn't heard the news.

Having just been fired, I have now applied to work as a KGB text-messaging agent.  More on this as it develops.
