Something you may want to know: according to Bulbapedia, Platinum has an error in the pseudorandom number generator it uses to determine shininess, so shiny pokemon are easier to breed or something. I don't know all the specifics, but you probably care/want to know/already know that.

I have not heard that, but that is an interesting thing. The only one with shiny breeding luck around here is R^2 but it makes me want to try for a shiny charmander egg a little. I'd like to hear what the odds are reduced to.
