My favorite part about this thread is how we are all using our one sentence per post to quibble about the rules and/or the very concept.

That one needed a semicolon rather than a comma.

This thread is at once both ridiculous and stupid, and is therefore doomed to failure; you proffer a rule without any context in a thread empty of all meaning and arguably purpose, meaning that nobody will do anything but criticize your thread and its single axiom (take, for instance, the fact that I am currently doing just that--only at a higher level, in a more extended form), and by doing such you have created nothing other than a fleeting distraction-- no, a temporary curiosity that does little more than serve as a station to increase one's postcount, and so it is for this exact reason that I suggest somebody--anybody--come up with something that we are meant to talk about or discuss, so that any discussion made is concise and to the point and furthermore (in all likelihood, at least) something somewhat interesting: because right now, at this juncture, it is not any of these things and is instead a simple waste of database space, in my humble opinion.

Yyler's effort is futile, because it is impossible to make the longest sentence in the English language: you can just put "Pinker said" at the beginning and put the rest of it in another layer of quotation marks, forever.
