Smears? Tiers? Seers? Peers? Rears? We just need a good name for that fifth one and let's do this already.

I thought the idea with revising the board names was making them less clever and obscure.  Changing "Ministry of Jerking Off" to "Leers" (and/or "Cheers") is kind of a step in the wrong direction.

I can't argue with that logic in these trying times.

Meanwhile...

And for the record, Romo's hitting all the right notes as an admin, trying to avoid the "us vs. them" squabbling and being very responsive to requests and criticisms.  He's been put in charge at a very awkward time, and I don't envy him for it, but he's a good choice and he's doing a good job.

Yes, he always struck me as someone who would have been an active admin, and I'm looking forward to seeing what he does with the place.

Quote from: Vance
I could be mistaken, but I was in communication with Terra during the split drama and Terra was rather fervently believing in Arc.

On the first day "It - All - Went - Down", yes. On the second day, we both came to the realization that an awkwardness had set in. Terra made it clear that he didn't want to be thought a fool, and likely would have been more comfortable with sole control for that time being. Then the offer from Sharkey came, and understanding that I only had time to Admin one board, I made my decision.

Quote from: Vance
Seems a bit silly to block him one way and keep him in power in another, doesn't it? Then again, like I said, I could be mistaken.

Couldn't say. Didn't bother to check my FTP access to the boards until well after my FTP access to The Mayor ended.

Quote from: Arcturus
He deleted them himself.

I don't think anything was deleted. My FTP access simply stopped, I tried to work through Word Press to ill-effect, and then the index page no longer became writable through Word Press. I wasn't angry by this occurrence, just a bit disappointed.

Quote from: Kabbage
It just grinds my gears how Arc could have easily, at any point since he left in January, explained his reasons for shutting down the project we'd all been hacking away at for the five-odd months prior. Or if he couldn't explain them publicly for some reason, just said "I can't tell you all why I can't tell you what happened"; at least then it would've almost seemed like he gave enough of a shit to let the contributors know what he was doing.

I've answered anyone who asked me privately, and was careful until I had the design and articles backed up. The closing and potential reopening of the Mayor has been out of my hands.

I'll try to work out something tomorrow. Worst case, I'll just donate the domain I'm not really doing much with and we can aim something more proper at it. Solidsharkey always seemed extraordinarily vain, anyway.

:sadpanda: Classic doesn't see anything wrong with being extraordinarily vain because Classic is extraordinarily ::D: . To be honest, I've always thought it wasn't vain enough. The only reason Classic doesn't pursue a vanity website is the low time-to-vanity payout. Look at Parish for Christ's sake.
