Is is accomplished. At long last, freedom.

Merci beaucoup à Zara and Parak for helping out a bunch, and if anyone else contributed without my knowledge, then speak up and get some frikkin' gratitude already, dang it. I don't think I've personally placed even half of the blocks in there.

I did a little bit, mostly digging out around the bottom pyramid (it won't be truly complete until it's an exact mirror)

My castle there on the bottom-left, completely overshadowed by the inverse pyramid.

I've been spending most of my time building up a maze made of glass, as well as building a lavaslide.

Lavaslide starts at cloud level

View of the top surface of the glass maze

View from inside the glass maze

View of the lavafall from inside the maze

Enclosed path (lava on top, water on bottom) which leads to the mountaintop path

WHEEEEEEEE

Planning to add extra stories to the glass maze next.

I think I got this out of my system.  I went down, got a shitton of coal and ruby and iron and gold, got lost on the way back up, came to the surface and realized there wasn't really anything I really wanted to do with any of it.

You could build a self-aggrandizing logo.
With a maze inside.

Kabbage and I were talking about this earlier. After getting to experience the server first-hand, I think I'm going to have to buy this.

Finally got onto the server. All I had to do was uncapitalize the J in the server name. Found a neat little mountain which I began to make as a base of operations. Pretty far off from other people it looked like. Then the server crashed.

This game is certainly addicting, but I couldn't tell you if I was actually enjoying myself when I played it.

Once the free period ends I'll probably stop and wait to buy it until a more featureful version is around.

But when that's around it will be twice the price. As soon as it leaves Alpha and goes to Beta, it'll be 19.99 instead of 9.99 (in Euros).

Are furnaces really fixed? I'm sitting here with sand and coal in a furnace, and the little fire lit up, but nothing's happening.

I think you have to close the furnace window and open it again for it to work. Alternatively, don't close the furnace window, or it won't work. It's one of those two.

If it's one of those two, it's the former: I stacked up four furnaces and had them all producing glass while I went out searching for more sand.

Sand is starting to seem scarce. Zara said to just roam farther afield, but that's only going to delay the problem. There's sand all over the starting areas, but I don't want to adversely affect the landscape, so I've started excavating from obscure locations like directly under boardwalks, under the walls of buildings, and offshore.

So: now that I've got a decent supply of glass, I'm making an underwater biodome, inspired by Smiler's undersea fort. It's capped with a glass dome that actually crests above the ocean's surface; it's visible from the spawn area.

I don't think there will be a sand problem for a while. I usually go relatively far out for my sand.

Theres a ton of sand where I'm building currently. I've just started putting it into my chest and putting stone in it's place. I'll gladly give it away.
