Frocto I dare you to beat the Pig Factory segment of Virtual Bart for the ZSNES.

Frocto: Kaizo Mario stage 1, no statesaves. It would have been stage 12 with statesaves, but I couldn't find a save file to download.

The vending machine puzzle from Infocom's The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I will provide the game image and an interactive fiction client configured to be nice and legible even with a screen the size of a YouTube video.

Edit: it goes without saying that you're not allowed to use a guide.

Okay, just reiterating what I said earlier.

If you want me to play a specific part of something, send me a save file, otherwise I'm just going to play the game from the start. Special instructions might be listened to, but I'm only recording ten minutes of footage for each game, so try to pick something snappy.

Anyway, I will get started on these soon, boys and girls. :)

I would also appreciate it if Envy and Dogstar could post their suggestions in this thread for everyone else's benefit.

Frocto: You can't actually select a stage in Virtual Bart. It's "random". I'd appreciate it if you do not skip this process in the video. Even if it takes you like, fifty save-state resets just to fucking enter the Pig Factory and you end a minute in. Otherwise you're good to go from the start.

I think this is a sterling example of the quality of design Virtual Bart is known for.

Download Succor from this link. Get as far as you can in the time provided. Returning to previous stages is permitted.

Here's how this will work, Frocto. I've prepared the game and the emulator all in one handy archive. I've adjusted the display settings so that it'll fit in a youtube window. To start the game, drag hhgg.z3 onto frotz.exe or gargoyle.exe, or open gargoyle.exe and choose hhgg.z3.

When you're ready to start playing, type the command "restore" and select the save file, also in the same directory, froctooo.sav. This will drop you at the beginning of the puzzle without any context.

Standard interactive fiction conventions apply: "look" to examine your surroundings, "i" to see your inventory (you'll want to do this), I'm assuming you're familiar. Since the display area is relatively small, you can use page up and page down to review older text.

You'll know you have won when the babel fish is in your ear. If you get pulled out of the room, you've lost and will have to start over. Hit "restore" again. I do not recommend overwriting your save file.

I solved it, but I'm pretty sure I used hints.

So, would you be willing to play an entire level, or if the real meat is the boss, just that?

Nevermind, the boss is the best part anyway, so I put you basically right next to her.

The Game: Terranigma.

The Challenge: Kill the Queen of Spain

The Files: Game, Save, and a note giving the only walkthrough info I want you to have.

I only fear I have made it too easy.

I had a friend who did that while ridiculously underleveled.  Like, did 1 damage per hit.

Yeah, around level 12 and under, or if you have the wrong weapon on. It takes you literally eight hours to do. I hate myself.

I was following a Terranigma LP for a while, and that's where and why the guy quit. There are ways to make the fight go faster if you know what you're doing but even then it's still a total bitch.

Frocto!

I am sorry for this, but I will have you play the WORST FAN GAME I have ever received. The poor kid worked his heart out for some of the most boring, tedious, awful game design ever. Play as far as you can! I completed all of it out of some sick sense of duty.

Hey Frocto? Remember Inca? That game I was telling you about that one time?

Play it as far as you can. I can hook you up with the game itself, but I still don't know the controls.
