Knytt Story Level Creation Contest

Begins the 4th!

Ends the the 26th!

THIS IS NOT FROCTO MAY CRY, NO INTENTIONALLY TERRIBLE LEVELS

Make a Knytt Stories level.

A genius has suggested to me that you limit yourselves to 30 rooms, not counting empty rooms.

These should be brief sojourns that can be completely in less than an hour at the absolute most.

Trying to figure out how viable a custom tileset would be. Currently looks like not at all, since I can't get transparency to work right. I've been using GraphicsGale, which dessgeega uses for her levels, and Zaratustra suggested i use irfanview to make sure transparency is saved on the resulting PNGs. And it seems like it should work! Except it doesn't, once the tileset's actually in the editor. If anybody knows what's going on here and how to get around it, let me know.

hm. Try getting a trial version of Paint Shop Pro 6, 7 or 8 and exporting to PNG.

I think I've solved the problem; I opened the tileset in paint and replaced the transparent space with magenta, selected all, copied everything to a new image, and saved. The resulting image shows up with magenta in image preview, but in the actual level it works.

Using Photoshop and saving as a PNG also works perfectly, without having to use magenta or black or whatever.

Going to take a -1 in this event by submitting late. Finally installed those Sims 2 expansions I found, and Julie's now cradling my keyboard like a woman obsessed. Taking the gold by default tomorrow.

Events are generally ignored if they receive less than 3-4 submissions.

I mean, maybe there'll be some sort of last second submission flood.... but I doubt it.
