Oh! By the by, that metal is actually unpainted. I am so bad at painting metal that I've developed a technique to avoid it entirely. First I burnish it with a wirewheel on my dremel (have to be REAL CAREFUL with that - too easy to wear off fine details), and I do add some wash touches (Gryphonne Sepia, Devlan Mud, etc. The sword hilt has a very thin wash of Shining Gold to give it a bit of colour, though it's tough to see in the photos) to add depth.

A repurposed Aragorn.

Hey, I have the Heroes of Helm's Deep set. I'm planning to paint it too, after I finish the Fellowship...

I think I picked it up as a random secondhand almost eight or nine years ago. Been sitting in a box pretty much since then. Finally painted!

My favorite thing about these is how easily you could mod this to be a band....

Far be it for me to turn down money, but it'd take me about a hundred thousand years to paint a whole warhammer army.

If you mailed them to me, it would only take five thousand years.

Took some new pictures to replace some of the shitty old ones (finally! nice pictures of the supplies!). FYI, the board's shrinking the tall ones:

I can't believe the weather's been so nice that you'd be able to take those pics on the balcony.

Well, the supplies were indoor pics.

Finally did a new one. An obligatory elf ranger dorkus.

Given how slow I am and the number of time I had to re-work things, he took two bloody days to paint, but at least I think it was worthwhile.

Well, that was something of a gap, wasn't it?

Just a small one for now. I'm on more of a figure painting kick, but this is sort of a combination of the two.

I while back I got one of the new GW elf figures to use for a figure conversion. Problem is, the new high-elf sculpts are bloody giant! This fellow is just about 40mm! It drove me nuts too, because he was a perfect sculpt for what I needed (eventually I resorted to getting some early 2000's Phoenix Guardsmen and converting them to get the same kit in the right scale).

Anyway, I thought a slightly oversized figure would work great for a monument. And his dramatic pose really fit well too.

Holy crap, that vert-de-gris is uncanny. I bet you have pigeons wistfully looking through a window right now.

Woop woop (click to resize)!

She's actually a conversion of a blood bowl/elfball figure.

That shoulder plate is the first thing I've ever really fully sculpted in green stuff!
