Maybe you're just on the wrong side of the Atlantic.

Hey Chuck: A man from Crete sails to Greece and declares to the people at the port: "All Cretens are Liars". Is the man from crete telling the truth, or is he lying?

I just took care of our robot problem. :smug:

That's not a logical fallacy.

He is lying, not all people from crete are liars, just some of them are, like him.

The logical fallacy is only if you say something like "I am lying, right now."

My inclination is "bot" because no, T-Mobile smartphone plans are not $50/month cheaper than Sprint.

A glance at the website says $30/month for unlimited Web and text.  Sprint's cheapest data rate is $70/mo plus $10/mo just for having a smartphone -- leastways, that's what they're charging me.

Yeah, about that ...

Ah, but you see, he said he gave up HIS S3.  Can you switch a Sprint phone over to T-mobile?  Could just be he had to hock his phone and couldn't afford another one.

So Sprint's owned by the Japanese now.  That's pretty fucking 80s, but besides that, I'm kind of wondering if that will mean their data rates will stop sucking lemons now.  Supposedly it's A Big Deal primarily because it enables Sprint to buy 4G bands that cover more than 5 square miles per state, but we'll see.  The 3G has stopped being effectively nonfunctional lately (and I'm effectively broke), so maybe I can stick around for a while.

Almost 7 months later, Sprint's data rates have not only ceased to stop being shit, but the entire network has degraded to the point that I can't keep important phone calls going now.  So I decided to fully overcompensate for the problems I've been having lately and got a Droid Razr Maxx HD.  Apparently one of my problems was a woeful lack of suffixes, in addition to battery life and connectivity concerns.

You just switched over to Verizon wholesale, eating the ETF? Damn.

My own sprint coverage is becoming somewhat spotty, so we'll see how it ends up. I'd like to get a Galaxy Note 2 soon - but I need that phone on my commute so I don't have to make eye contact with anyone on the bus.

Er, no, my contract ended a while ago.  Though I think I might have if it came to that.  I almost pretty much had no phone for a while there.

The MDRMH almost lasted two full days of heavy video/audio/browsing/gaming/GPS use without touching a charger, but apparently Minecraft Pocket devours even the most ridiculous of power sources.  Still, I'm colored a suitable shade of impressed.

Okay, I'm sort of fishing around for recommendations on a new phone. Any recent-model smartphone will automatically be a massive upgrade over my current phone (BB Pearl, with it's wonderful WAP2 browser), so slight differences in technical puffery will be pretty irrelevant.

Battery life is my #1 priority, screen size relative to phone size is my second (I do not want to get any of the massive phones like the Galaxy or Note - pocket comfort is pretty important), and cost is my third, as I am looking to buy the phone outright and move to one of our small-time providers where you have to bring your own hardware. I keep looking at the BBZ10 as my benchmark, but would like to look at cheaper options since that's like $600. Anybody got any suggestions?
