Well I was actually drinking with company earlier, so socially instead of because I am depressed. Like, I'm working on it, I'm just having a hard time. I'm being told from all sides that I'm just having an existential crisis and I'll get over it which doesn't make me feel any better.

I'm trying to do all the right things. I'm even going to the gym twice a week which is way better than my lifetime average of zero times a year. I don't know what point I'm trying to make, if any.

Working out, like most depression mitigating factors can take a while for the "good stuff" to accumulate and start doing its job properly.

If the depression is a recent thing it might help just to talk to someone (preferably a professional, make sure they at least know that you're venting) or write what you're feeling to deal with it more intellectually.

Generally, I do not introduce depressants to try and restore the previous status-quo from a state of depression.

We went to the bars and then these guys were all "you have librarian glasses please tell us about our late fees please etc etc"

And then wen we were walking home Sarah was all "I hope those 18 year olds are still at your house that one ni the red shirt and acne scars is real cute" and Iwas like don't do it he's really 17 and you're 27 but then he was still here and now they are holding hands and he is playing with her bracelets
