Dungeons & Dragons
« on: February 04, 2010, 11:23:41 PM »

I'm starting a weekly tabletop roleplaying game some time in the next few weeks. It's probably going to be D&D fourth edition, though I'm considering other options. It may be IRC or voice, and will use a neat Java app Gametable for maps and miniatures if needed. Previous D&D/4E experience useful but not required.

Primary time slot is Sunday mornings East Coast time (8am-noon EST), or if nobody can wake up that early on a Sunday, then afternoons (noon-4pm EST). If that's no good, then another day at the same time.

Post below with:
1. What time you can make it
2. What RPG you prefer
3. Whether you would prefer IRC or voice

Time:  It'd be reasonable for me to do so in times between 2pm-12am Central time any day of the week. Morning games on Sunday is fine too

4e. 3.5 is fine. I've played ADnD and other games too so I'm flexible.

I can do either. It doesn't really matter.

Oooooh, morning games! Sounds right up my alley.
I can dig 4e. I like 3.5 better though.
I prefer IRC because I can't think clearly with voices.

Added a list to the top post. It looks like we have four players, which is the minimum. I'd like another player or two to be safe.

Sorry Kazz, it seems you work at the exact time I'm available.

Everyone else, please post if the Sunday afternoon backup slot (noon-4pm) is okay for you, in case Sunday morning doesn't work out.

I added Kayumi's friend Phil. We could still use another guy but for now it looks like we've enough people to go. I'll get started on some preparations.

Any requests? (Setting, campaign theme, anything else?)

What is the starting level?
I prefer a 5-10 starting level for 4e, to be honest, and a higher one for 3.5 (if that is what we are doing).
But whatever. It's not a strong preference. It makes CC a bit longer, but for some settings I think it works better and I think it helps cement the characters path a bit more.

I like to start at level one for any system running. I find it frustrating to have to juggle numbers a lot at the start.

True. In 3.5 it's a pain but in 4e it's just pressing a few more buttons.
But whatever. I have no strong feelings one way or the other.

Can you confirm which four you actively want and which time?

The list is Lottel, BŁge, Doom, Kayumi and Kayumi's friend Phil. Time slot is Sunday mornings (8am-noon US east coast). The medium is IRC, with Bones/Dragongame as dicebot and Gametable for minis. Game is D&D fourth edition beginning at level 1. I'll sort out more specifics later.

This Sunday(14th) or the next?

Request for settings?

Hmm. I'm really gay for Fallout. Nothing else springs to mind.

I am fine with a simple dungeon crawler. As easy-peasy as it gets for the DM. But I can go for convoluted story or something in between.
