Important information:

Game starts noon London time / 8am US east coast, in #jdigital on Espernet.

The game is D&D fourth edition and begins at level 1. If you don't have the rules, WotC has up a set of quick start rules. That and the Character Builder software will see you through levels 1 to 3.

Download Gametable 2.0.RC7. Gametable will be used for dungeon maps and miniatures, IRC for talky and dice roll.

Use whatever you like as a character sheet. Character Builder software is recommended to build your guy; it's free up to level 3. I'll have some pre-generated guys ready to hand out if you don't want to build your own (you can always build your own later).

No game tomorrow. Game starts on the 21st.

I wrote the date in my original post, and it must have disappeared in editing.  :nyoro~n:

Oh Thank God. I was about to frown pretty hard at you telling us to gen when East Coast boys are about to go to sleep.

I will probably be there and everything sound gravy!

What's the setting?  Just generic Points of Light?  Any restrictions on character options?  Can I play a dragonmarked revenant bladeling or what?

No particular setting, no particular restrictions. You can play anything that makes sense and isn't annoying.

I made an elf ranger Seeker.  Just so the other players have an idea what's being played.

I love that you feel the need to specify "not annoying" with me, JD.  I already told you I wasn't going to Ch'uk.

Six in the damn morning? You're killing me. Fine, I'll give it a try.

Some of these guys are saying to do an all-Primal campaign. If you decide to do that I guess I'll be a half-orc warden, but I was originally thinking

I'ma be a dwarf rogue. A hot-blooded young dwarf, practically still a boy; his beard's hardly even a foot long!

The player list is now Lottel, Büge, Doom, Kayumi, Phil and Bongo Bill. Parak wants in but I'm going to cap the number of players at six to keep combat from taking too long.

There may be enough players for a second game from noon-4pm, if someone else can DM it. Joxam and Malikial were interested in this game but 7am Sunday was too early as they raid in WoW on Saturday nights.

Ok, for now, I think I'm gonna go with a half-orc fighter.

Not a bad balance.  Two controllers, two defenders, a striker and a leader.

In 4e, I think the practice to use is the arrays or point buy according to the book.
CB does that stuff automatically.
And JD said he wanted it CB legal, right?

Arrays or standard point buy. Character Builder is helpful for this. The free demo comes with all the feats, classes, races and stuff up to level 3.

I'm having second thoughts about being in two games while running one, and Lottel's is looking like it'll be more schedule-friendly, so I must respectfully drop out.

There's a chance I won't be available this Sunday. Show up in #jdigital for game time anyway; if I'm not there yet, get characters ready for whoever doesn't have one, discuss your characters, and so on. If I'm not there an hour after start time, send Link assume I'm away and the game will begin the following week.
