Tyrannical Albums
« on: March 30, 2010, 05:20:11 PM »

I've been listening to Telefon Tel Aviv's final album these past few days, Immolate Yourself, and dannggg this is some deliciously crunchy techno:

They're pretty clearly going for an 80's electronica thing here but I'll be damned if it isn't fantastic stuff. I give it big ups.

FUN FACT: Apparently the lead guy committed suicide right before their final album came out! ┐('~`;)┌ w/e

An uploader to this site, geez!  Is that so hard?  Or at least someway to link MP3s, I'll host them on my own super hot website.

Since I'm kind of afraid of editing things right now, would you kindly change the topic to "Tyrannical Vinyl" or something with less of a double-meaning around here?

Speaking of which, heeeeey Kabbage.

Lately I've been traveling back to the ancient society of 2005, specifically MGMT's first studio release "Climbing to New Lows". Overall all the songs off it are a lot more consistently good than "Oracular Spectacular" and maybe even better than their third album I can't find anywhere.

Picked up Billion Dollar Babies for $5 yesterday. Easily one of the best rock albums ever.

I couldn't find a good version of Generation Landslide, so just pretend that's in here too.

This topic will never die.

I finally picked up "Year of the Black Rainbow" and if it showed me anything, it's that Coheed & Cambria could have stopped right after "In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth: 3" and not too much would have been lost. Such a good album.

k-os' latest (unless I missed something) album "Yes!" is most definitely his best. Where it lacks the broad spectrum of musical influences most of his other stuff has, you can't argue with awesome results.

OH LOOK ANOTHER POST!

Another "newest but oldish" awesome album. Tegan and Sara "The Con", and I'm pretty sure the only other fans on the boards I know of agree fully on this point.
