My brother William (malikial) will represent my interests this evening, as I am currently out of the state and in a hospital waiting room on a blackberry.

Ok! We have 10 people in. So two groups of 5.
A 3.5 group and a 4e group! And you can be in both.

I am in the 4e group.

Looks like 3.5 is Sundays and 4e is Thursdays?

That's why animals are skittish when he's around, and why he tripped last week when he walked past a priest. Some say that Zargon's a hypochondriac. Others admit that there's no good reason to name a kid Zargon unless he's going into the demon-slave business. Moreover, Zargon's got the research to prove that he's doomed. Granted, much of it is legend or ambiguous enough to be debatable, but the numbers don't lie.

He is currently makes his living as a watchman at the town graveyard and offering cryptic advice in exchange for hams and herbs.

Driven by knowledge and fear.

I'm sorry. I've been on limited to no internet since basically when this thing got started up. This might be a bit of a late post, or a post that is mostly useless rambling but I'm going to spill my ideas on round-robin DMing now that I'm on a stable connection and not using my fuckin' cell phone to post.

First of all, in my experience round-robin only ONLY works for a comically inclined game. Then it turns into katestory, but with actors as well as writers instead of just writers. However, when trying to do it seriously you always run the chance of running afoul someone else by killing off someone or turning 'their' story into something one of the other DMs thinks it isn't supposed to be.

I like comedy games, and I even like the idea of round-robining, but if comedy isn't something we're going for then we either need some big boys to step up to the DM plate and just let them pass off DMing (as opposed to everyone) or we need to keep it light-hearted. I'm all for DMing, just so you know. I love it, and round-robin gives me even more of a challenge which I think will be nice.

Ok. I guess this wasn't as long as I thought it'd be. Hmm. Enough said for now, I think.

I wanna go for serious games, but if we get a DM or two in the mix that want to run more light hearted games, that's okay too.  Roleplaying is easy once it's established and doesn't require THAT much DM interference.

So, first post is updated.  Didn't know what to call the campaigns other than 'game 1' and 'game 2'.  Obviously this leaves room for a game 3!  PERHAPS IN FUTURE?

Son of a money-lender and land owner, Rysek is used to living the good life.  He has carefully groomed black hair, dark eyes with an arrogant glint to them, a warm and comfortable smile when he wants to impress, and a disapproving scowl the rest of the time.  He wears very heavy and ornate armor which is a considerable strain for his light build, but he would wear heavier armor if he could afford it.  He wears his holy symbol around his neck; a wooden ankh painted yellowish to appear as gold (at least, at a distance...)

His families fortune can be traced back to it's connections to the Church of Mammon, a much loathed religion of frauds and liars.  Incredible wealth and personal power is goal of all would-be Mammonites.  Rysek was sent to a cloister to study the ways of his kin, when great tragedy (or great fortune, for those indebted the Church) struck.  A mob razed the building to the ground, stealing the horded wealth and making off with the majority of the Clouth family fortune.  It is said that, during the attack, the phylactery of the High Priest, a lich of considerable age and influence, was destroyed.  It is perhaps a matter of time before the Church disappears entirely.

Rysek now adventurers, even though he hates putting his life on the line and certainly isn't interested in
helping people.

He is a strict follower of the Mammon Laws: Seek to live forever.  Know no pain or discomfort.  Possess vast sums of wealth and personal property.  Gather objects or creatures of beauty for your own pleasure. Only then shall you be close to Mammon; The Golden God.

-------

When you post McDohl, I'll work your guy in!

Also, I figured it would be okay if I made Bluff a class skill for those that worship Mammon.  I'm sure this will be okay with everyone!  Also, McDohl tossed me his extra money, hence why I could afford the armor!

Hey Makaris, how did you create your character? Did you use some kind of neato programz?

So far we have 2 characters written up in this thread? How many total will I be needing to look at?

Nah, I did it the old fashioned way.  I used that program a linked on the previous page just as a heads up on a few things I was a bit foggy on, since it's been years since I've messed with a cleric in 3.5.  Mostly I just used the SRD and Zach's character for the format.

Edit:  Oh, did you mean how I formatted it?  I just typed it in notepad and then added the [*code][*/code] thingers, minus the '*' of course.  I had to do a little fixing and correct a few weird spacing things but that was pretty much it.

I think there are six players, including yourself.  So five PC's and one DMPC if you should decide to do that.

Some basic Setting Information for Other DM's

Initial Genre: Dark Fantasy
Magic Level: Low
World name: Ergar

In the small farming community of Jeth live the PC's. The people fear and distrust any magic user so much that it causes panic and mass hysteria amongst them. Even good Clerics are wary of using their abilities in public.

Otherwise, everyone in Jeth is incredibly friendly, if a bit superstitious.

Notable Locations in Jeth:

The Iesous - A Local Tavern/Inn specializing in the towns homemade onion beer. The place is owned by the Half-Orc Rha'Zkul.

Mithras' General Shop - Probably the busiest store in town, Mithras the Half-Elf has many miscellenious items that would be of interest to an Adventurer.

Lady Xaria's Smoke Shop - A low key place where people can come to smoke Hookahs and purchase all sorts of strange herbs to smoke.

16 Thrones - A very comfortable and refined brothel. The Madame of the Brothel is a Half-Orc known as L'ardousa and is well versed in the romantic arts. She has at any time 2d6 Human women, 1D6-1 Elven ladies and 1D4 Halflings. The place smells of lavender and fresh apples all the time.

Some Local Rumors:

Someone heard from a friend of an aunt's brother that to the north is an Island sitting in the middle of a lake that once used to be the hide out of the notorious Goblin Bandit King Grubjub. No one knows what happened to the nefarious goblin, but many impaled corpses of Grubjub's victims abound on the island.

Somewhere in the forest to the south-west is a Tree. This tree doesn't seem very special. But if a woman bleeds on it's roots, the Tree will speak. The tree is willing to give the location of a treasure in exchange for 2 pints of female blood poured on it's roots.

If someone were to ask Lady Xaria about her delicious cakes, she would show them wondrous things in the backroom of her shop.

Saffiyah, scion of House Helviani, is in big trouble. This (relatively) young Drow of average build carries herself with the smooth confidence of an aristocrat. She wears finely-tooled leather armour. More than one cutpurse has decided against picking her pocket when they laid eyes on the wand carved from a human femur.

House Helviani's fortunes were faltering, exacerbated by the fact that its holdings were closest to the surface: raids by adventurers and orcish war-bands were all too common. Saffiyah was sent out into the world five years ago with a task: forge a trade alliance with one of the surface nations. With it, House Helviani can commission a mercenary company to guard the caravans of goods traveling into and out of the Underdark.

Saffiyah's travels took her to one of the many forbidding desert city-states. There, she was struck by the endless starry vista of the night sky. Delving into proscribed lore penned by mad sages, she found she could harness a modicum of power from those entities that dwelled in the cold, forbidding gulfs between the stars.

As with all things in Drow society, Saffiyah's reason for adventuring comes down to one word: Politics.
