From what I understand the game is intended to be the step between Chrono Trigger and Radical Dreamers and follows those plot points pretty closely. The wife is having fun with it, for what it's worth, and she's pretty obsessive about Chrono Trigger. Chrono talking is pretty rage worthy all around though. As far as polish goes, the game was released on blackcat pretty recently, so I would assume that they've been polishing for the last year. There was probably a lot of shitty shit that got cut or improved.

Do you happen to know if Zeality was one of the people who 'polished it up'?

Because as mentioned before, the boy is decent in all fields except Chrono series, where he's 25 crazies on a scale of 1-10, and I don't doubt that that would...surface in a thing like this.

I'll check this out once it's on a site that I actually have access to... although I don't know why, after my disastrous Alpha experience. I think I mostly want to see if they changed Glenn's speech so he doesn't sound like a 1990's teenager.

Zeality was not involved with the polishup.

Since apparently Shinra couldn't be bothered, here's the version that was on Demonoid. It contains a copy of zsnes, which apparently has to be run with a special launcher in order for the mp3s to be used. No idea if this is the full release that's been being talked about, but it claims to be.

I played some of this... and... I think I need to be a much bigger CT fan to want to play this more.

It's not that it's bad, I just don't care about the plot. Glenn talks like a pirate for some reason. There weren't any battles (I guess CT didn't have battles in the prologue either, save for Gato).

I appreciate the effort they went to with having new music, but couldn't they pick some tracks that aren't instantly recognizable from another series? The FFVII boss music? Really?

So far it just seems like Fanfiction: The Game, so I'll pass on this for the same reason I don't read CT fanfiction.
