If you can kill the lake hydra, you don't even need the key.

Aaaargh, why are you attacking me, pyro merchant?  I freed you like you asked, so what if I cleaved you with my sword a little bit in the process?!

46k to get the bell tower priest to forgive my crimes and make that npc not hostile again.  Better start grinding for that forest crest now, since my whole build sorta hinged on setting stuff on fire.   ::(:

Oh man, am I the only one who can't fucking believe how good this game is? Like, every time I keep moving deeper into this horrible world and I'm consistently amazed.

Addendum: Welcome to Sen's Fortress. You gonna get raped.

I found it and I very quickly fucked off, because 9 heads shooting shit at you is nothing I'm interested.

In other news: Lost 12k souls to the wolf. Holy fuck is he terrifying.

You need to man up and bum-rush the shore like a reverse Omaha Beach.  Then he'll just divebomb your face with those nine heads.   :nyoro~n:

My manly plan to take him on at melee range by sprinting at him was going great until I ran straight off an underwater cliff right in front of him that's not very easy to see.   :perfect:

So in a true test of manliness, I prove myself: Bal let me know of a shortcut I missed in Blight town. Meaning, yes, I killed the Chaos Witch and went back through blight town and the sewers to get out. I then went back again to unlock the shortcut. Cursed. Sewers, Blight town, through the alleyway with 5 toxic blowdart snipers and fire dogs to get the flame spirit as well as unlock the shortcut in the valley of drakes.

I'm just grinding souls in the forest now. The NPCs here are worth 2-4k a piece and aren't terribly hard to kill so long as they don't mob you - and if you die you are just about 10 seconds away from your corpse at any given time.

I feel stuck. I can't seem to do damage worth a shit to anything suddenly. Sif kicks my ass, as does Ceaseless Discharge. Sen's fortress I've wandered into once or twice only to be chase out by the guards and traps. I'm only doing around 50-100 damage per swing to anything. I don't get it.

Try changing up the damage types you are doing. You might need magic damage or something.

I mean against everything. And I think this game has just had enough of my shit. I just tried to kick one of the Lizardmen and I was one the one who got knocked off the ledge.

Seems divine weapons suck.

Even versus undead, the damage is mediocre.

Also the catacombs are stupid as shit.

Divine weapons scale best off of faith, so if you're strength and/or dex heavy, you won't get much more out of them.  Even so, I was two-shotting skellies with a divine zweihander like 20 sl ago, so I'm not entirely sure what your problem is.

I can understand flavorwise why the skeletons don't drop souls. But it's STILL fucking annoying as shit when you're going through the catacombs and have to kills dozens of the annoying fuckers for no reward.

At least everything but regular skeletons drop souls.  Actually I guess slimes don't, either.  They aren't too threatening, though.

Those motherfucking blood flies in blighttown don't drop souls. It sort of makes sense because they infinitely respawn, but I should get 100 souls whenever the things hover right above my attack range for a minute as compensation.

I'm having problems with the concept of ever beating this game. No matter how far I progress, I can't really see the horizon at all. I guess that fits the game rather well.
