so I've switched into the covenant that summons you to hunt people in the forest and it's amusing how the people you fight either seem to be pathetically unprepared to face another person or someone who's farming phantoms who can 2-shot you

So, yeah, I had someone summoned against me in there, I didn't realize this was Dark Soul's PVP area(Like 4-2 in demon's souls) I was prepared though, stood on a bridge made myself invisible and waited. Guy comes running along, I break stealth swing at him, he tries to dodge roll... right off the bridge free 12K souls. Then I killed wolf and I was out of there easy peasy. The trash in that area was more of a challenge than the phantom.

I never faced any phantoms, I just went around, killing the hydra and the giant cats.

Feeding humanity to a blind, and tragically corrupted spider demon in exchange for horrifying Chaos spells. This is a neutral covenant, apparently. Later I will puke poison on people in addition to throwing lava at them.

Fuck yeah, chaos.

My pyromancer relies on fire spells and spears (piercing damage). Ceaseless Discharge is completely immune to one, and functionally immune to the other. Fuck you, Ceaseless Discharge.

Be a pro, like the soul in the above videos.

On another note, I joined the Warriors of Sunlight.  I've been farming sunlight medals off helping people with the gargoyles, and just got summoned by a guy on NG+.  I was successful/survived, but that was a bit of a surprise.  I wonder if being a Sunbro eases or just lifts entirely the sl restriction on summons.  That, or the dude was running around in NG+ at 15-ish.

Is it a new character you made after beating the game? Because my pyromancer kept, and keeps, getting obvious NG+ bros from very early on.

Hey Bal remember that one time in Hellgate London we started new characters but the servers bugged out and we were fighting level 30 elites at level 1?

Good times.

P.S. Really tempted to buy a PS3 screw you all.

so the skeleton babies before nito drop souls and sometimes humanity and respawn infinitely. pretttty good for farming. Basically redeems all the souls you don't get for killing regular skellies

Except there's no good way to get to them other than wading down through the whole catacombs/tomb of giants. The bonfire to Nito's chamber leads there and nowhere else.

There's a bonfire that's much closer to the end, but there's still like three or four of those bear thing skellies and a few giants between you and the baby spawning pool.

If you're a rank two Chaos Servant, there's a respawning prowling demon that drops two demon titanite and 5k souls along the unlocked path to Lost Izalith.  for souls it's not as efficient as farming the forest chumps, but you can't get demon titanite anywhere else, and it's a guaranteed drop.

Man, Lost Izalith.  I was able to lure the first few lava dragons/dinos/whatever into the beginning of the cave where they couldn't reach me and plink at them with magic until they were dead.  The rest of them, though...there didn't seem to be a good way to get rid of the bastards past hoping that one or two of them would murder each other during my many, many suicide runs.  Running past them without getting pancaked is basically a crap shoot unless you clear most of the area.  THANKFULLY they don't respawn, but that part is still going to be uber-annoying in new game +.
