We sort of did when I was LPing it, but uh

We started a new game last evening, and decided we were bored with super optimal apartment blocks.

What started as a emergency shelter to protect Norondor from the terrors of the first night became the start of our subterranean settlement. You can clearly see most of our NPC apartments, with my personal (work in progress) crystal grotto under the lake in the bottom left (currently inhabited by the Dryad), and the very bottom of Sei's floating doom fortress, which seems to be taking the shape of a giant skull made of hell rock and lava, in the upper right

Going down a bit further to the entrance of our main shaft, we can see Ziiro's dwarf fortress on the right, and Frozyn's (WoW friend from ages past) ice cave on the left. You can also see the captive jungle. Somewhat below that, but not in frame, is a captive blue fungus environment.

Much, much further down, and completely pointless to take a screenshot of, is what we've dubbed the "Dark Iron Highway" which is a horizontal excavation and platform project leading in either direction from the main shaft in a straight, flat line east to a spider cave, west as far as we could take it tonight. Both sides are likely to be expanded until they reach the edges of the map.

Zara added some honey springs on the right there, while I expanded my grotto to include a lovely fungus lit set of NPC apartments

Meanwhile Sei has expanded the captive fungus farm significantly. Captive jungle subject to future expansion.

In my experience the combat and exploration parts of the game are pretty dull, and adding in a bunch of new random drops didn't help.

I do, however, rather enjoy many of the new items and materials for building things. To this end I have heavily modified an item world I downloaded so that it includes the new furniture and building materials from 1.2, and now share it with you: download here.

Copy into your Terraria/Worlds directory and keep a backup elsewhere. Once you loot it of everything you need, copy the backup back into /Worlds to refresh everything inside.

I'm pretty sure I have things pretty comprehensive and pretty well organized, but I finished this project ill and on medication so I may well have overlooked or screwed up something. Let me know if it needs revisions.

Oh, except I already know it doesn't include the Halloween-event stuff. 2spooky if you ask me.

Well, R^2, there's also TEdit. Not sure whether it'll be as fun to edit from outside the game client, though.
