Well, the dog also made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs.

:nyoro~n: I'd always thought that knot was short for both nautical miles and those per hour.

It's one of the few things that knot is short for.

Well it turns out that Thad is correct.  Knot is a term for nautical miles per hour, I stand corrected.

Guys, please stop talking about knots in the context of dogs.

Stimulus ahead of schedule, under budget, rocks fall:

Quote from: Obama
And that's why I'm pleased to hear that in state after state across America, competition for these projects is so fierce, and contractors are doing such a good job cutting costs, that projects are consistently coming in under budget.  The final bid for one road project in Connecticut was $8.4 million less than the state budgeted for.  Another one in Louisiana was $4.7 million less.  A project at BWI Airport will be completed for $8 million less than expected.  Bids for projects in North Carolina have been 19 percent under budget.  Colorado is reporting bids up to 30 percent less than they expected.  And the officials in California have seen bids that are close to half as much as they had projected.

Obama Puppy frowns upon no-bid contracts.

I totally could have cut those prices in half if I'd just handed this job off to one of my insider buddies.

Blagojevich on reality show

Quote
The upcoming show, called I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!, pits 10 celebrities in a Costa Rican village for a month while they battle each other in competitions and put their survival skills to the test. The show will air nightly and viewers will have the final say on which celebrities have to go home early.

 :victory:

As a politician, Blagojevich is corrupt and scheming.  But that makes him the perfect reality show contestant.

Wait, what happened to that whole "federal corruption charges" thing?

Do you understand how terrifying the words “vibrating strap on” are for an asexual? That’s like saying “the holocaust” to a Jew.

I'm pretty sure the American system of law somehow allows politicians and CEOs to be forcefully retired or resigned from their positions while "settling" for being paid as consultants, appearing on reality TV shows and basically getting kickbacks for the rest of their lives.
