What does that have to do with Fox News?  It quotes Fox News once, but otherwise that's reported by BANG Media, which appears to have even less credentials than a tabloid.

Though to answer your question, Reagan dismantled the laws regarding truth and fairness in the media a while back, so yeah, it's just that they have enough money to continue claiming to be a legitimate news organization.

I just hope they're not trying to shoehorn in No Man's Land.

Batman #675 is the bridge to RIP from...everything that's come before.

When Morrison said everything he's done so far was leading up to this, he wasn't kidding.  This issue has Jezebel, Robin, Nightwing, Talia, Merlyn, Damian, and a Nine-Eyed Man.  There's fallout from Nanda Parbat, the previous arc with the Robin Dies at Dawn threads, and the palpable presence of an unseen foe who may or may not be the Black Glove -- and we close with a surprisingly violent, pre-52-style Bruce.  The only pieces of Morrison's entire run that are missing are the Joker and Bat-Mite (and of course the latter seems to have just been a hallucination induced by blood loss).  (And, in another nod to Golden and Silver Age continuity, Alfred's last name is apparently back to "Beagle", not "Pennyworth".)

For all that I think the title is standard comic book marketing absurdity, I am convinced that Batman: RIP is going to be good.  All the dominoes are in place, and I'm really looking forward to seeing Grant knock them over.

New poster - one that finally has Harvey featured. (I also like how you can only see the side of his face that later gets scarred.) This one is also split up into three separate posters for each character.

So, I guess that new trailer or whatever is being revealed tomorrow. I thought it had been four days already, but not according to the site.

I have to wonder if DC pitched that poster idea; it's very reminiscent of the stark, single word ads in my comic books lately.

Right outta the Batman Returns' "The Bat, The Cat, and The Penguin" campaign playbook:

... Which were also distributed as single character posters. Another International Poster with Bats going all Ghost Rider was also released:

... And a fan manipulation:

Likely tonight, as the viral game begins in London fifteen minutes from now, and ends in S„o Paulo five hours from now.

Wait a minute.

The sirens are screaming and the fires are howling
Way down in the valley tonight

Theres a man in the shadows with a gun in his eye
And a blade shining oh so bright

There's evil in the air and there's thunder in the sky
And a killer's on the bloodshot streets

And down in the tunnel where the deadly are rising
Oh I swear I saw a young boy
Down in the gutter
He was starting to foam in the heat

 :whut:  :oic:

They're tipping their hand a little early, wouldn't you say?

Starting with itsallpartoftheplan, thousands came out today to follow clues for their particular location, which led them to a pair of Joker Thugs handing out raffle tickets & Joker Cards that gave them admission into a local theater showing the new trailer.

Then for the raffle, the film print of the trailer was given away.

Each city finally submitted their codes, more puzzle wankery was had, and sittingducks was revealed.

Quote from: iChat
Each row of ducks was translated into binary code. We got a bunch of 0's and 1's for blue and yellow ducks.

1st row: "To win shoot"
2nd row: "Only row two"
3rd row: ybbyyyybbybby (that gave us the order)

Which led to happytrails, a giant Fuck You to all those playing at home, telling them to wait until Sunday.

Right now the Chicago raffle winner is working with some film students to upload the trailer tonight tomorrow. Time will tell...

Turns out the film prints given out have been "Jokerized":

Very nice.

Not going to the comic shop today as Saturday is Free Comic Book Day, but Nrama has the 3 Batman-related pages from DC Universe #0.  They show a meeting between Batman and Joker in Arkham, reminiscent of Killing Joke, and set up RIP.  Joker knows what's happening but of course won't say beyond cryptic clues.

It's well done; I'm really looking forward to the arc at this point.

EDIT: A thought: those pages share similar imagery with the movie poster above in that they focus heavily on asymmetry to the Joker's face.  I don't think it's a Two-Face reference in this case -- that would be way too easy -- but I'm sure there's meaning to it beyond "damn, that guy's eye is freaky!"

Michael, you know I can only use my turbo jump once per episode.

Less Tankman, more sleek. My mind keeps wanting to slap a bathead on the front of it, but shows what I know. Truly a ride the Dark Knight can fight crime in and go pick up fly honeys with during the same night.
