TV Tropes got hacked.

Cute, but that guy just took the syringe away from a thousand junkies.  Enjoy your brief and painful notoriety, Some Guy From Kuwait with Poor English.

If that box uses FP addons then it pretty much deserved to get its ass kicked.

It turns out that on the grand scale of things my ability to write is not bad.

Yes, bad would prove to be a poor definition.

'Apocalyptic' is far more suiting.

This reinforces my belief that if such a thing can exist as a secure webserver, most aren't.

Unrelatedly, I learned there are a lot of website design companies in Belfast, and some of them are good. I assumed it would be as bad as the local IT industry, founded on a trickle of coasting university students while all the real talent flows south to Google/Microsoft European headquarters in Dublin. Turns out website design works like graphic design, not IT, so it runs on local airheaded dreamers instead of serious-minded career programmers.

A secure webserver is one where the user dies of natural causes while waiting for FormsAuthentication to kick in after supplying login/password.

This obnoxious NEONGREEN pen I got along with a bunch of actually useful colors for keeping diagrams straight is actually useless as in it won't write. Fuck neon green. I'm gonna go with NEONPURPLE instead!

I often do something and then immediately consider it a mistake.  For instance, I'll shut down my computer, only to realize that I had some important thing left to do.

One nifty way to get around this, at least for an XP user like me (ymmv), is to open up a WordPad document and just leave it on the desktop.  Enter a few random characters if you wish, and don't save it.  When the computer begins its shutdown process, it will find the unsaved document and give you three options: Save the document, continue shutting down, or "Cancel."  Cancel, as it happens, cancels the entire shutdown procedure and leaves the computer running.

It turns out that instead of going to sleep or doing something productive with my time I will use literally any excuse to avoid doing something even if it is incredibly simple.

I'd like to believe that is common for a member of the internet generation.

I wasted ten hours to commit a paragraph of text onto a page.
A paragraph that I think I'll discard.

My solution is that I never shut down.

...I should probably get power management set up on this thing.

And I just learned that some of Arc's jokes can be really disappointing and overplayed.
