Holy smokes, that's awesome! Can you show me how?

I use Sai Painttool, and I make a vector layer for the inking, I use the curve tool to make all the lines, and then I use the pressure tool to make them thinner or thicker. And I use the pen tool to quickly sketch up things like creases and hair.

I quickly did this one during my lunch break today, I didn't eat anything because I had been feeling queasy that morning [Bad potato cake, I think]
I really need to work on my perspective, the feet just don't look right, I always have trouble with this.

Well you did draw her feet about the same size even though they're at different angles. Her left needs to be angled down a touch and stretched out a bit.

So are you going to reveal this ancient ninja secret technique or what?  I think if I knew how to do that shit I'd actually give drawing something besides stick people another shot.

I'm not sure if that doesn't come out to gobbledy-gook if you're not big up on Paint programs, photoshop or vector art programs.

SAI is pretty awesome, I've used it for everything but the final finish on everything I've done in the last 6th months. I don't ink with vectors (MATH LINES, FOR MR. MEAN) though, most of the time. I usually save them for certain, 'sensitive' lines... Like say, BOOBS. Those need to be good lines -- so I make a vector layer, work it out and then merge it down.

Hopefully I'll teach him how to PRO COLOR in SAI, which I think is it's other huge strength.

Oh, whoops.  My phone kind of hid that post in the little nook between micropages.

Carry on!  *surreptitiously slips bat behind doorframe*

Another work break sketch, I am pretty happy with it, There are a few perspective muckups, as usual, and I had trouble with the legs and feet, as usual, but overall, i'm pleased.

I added some details and cleaned it up a bit today, i'll probably do some inking this weekend, I'll hold off the colouring of images until I learn a bit more.

I got a little impatient with editing the line weights and stuff, but I was inking this for five hours straight and I have a headache and I am sore as heck after it, I might work on it more tomorrow, but seriously, inking for 3 hours straight really wears you out.
I think I need to use even thinner lines, I'd like to hear other people's opinions, though.

Thickness or thinness of lines depends on personal taste and how you're going to colour it. Don't be afraid of using darker lines if you think they're needed or you want to add weight to a line.

A good rule of thumb for inking is: The heavier a line is, the closer the object will appear. Also, if you want to add dimension to a figure, apply heavier lines on the underside of things.

Well, it was more like three hours, I musjudged when I had started. I tend to lose track of time.
I usually churn out a completed sketch in about half an hour to an hour and a half or so, inking and colouring take much longer. But really, if you think of it, you can spend six hours on a RPG and get a little bit through it or gain a few levels, or you could have a lovely completed drawing that people will enjoy looking at! Of course, that's the part that usually leads to depression, when you spend six hours on a drawing and the only comment you get is some dude who comments on all your drawing going "COOL PIC" :P
