I fell asleep super early yesterday, so I didn't do much, but I made up for it a little this morning!

So it turns out Stush is also capable of drawing men so manly their eyebrows can only be expressed as slanted rectangular super black holes that devour all matter and light

For some reason, whenever I draw dudes, they come out super manly, like concentrated manliness.

Do these eyebrows sometimes fall off, causing these men to scramble around frantically trying to put them back on?

That's a remarkably smooth Clint Eastwood you have going. The guy should have more lines on his face than a Liefeld drawing.

Yeah, I have a lot of trouble with lines on faces, I start adding them and suddenly the person looks 10,000 years old. It's just one of the many things I need to keep working on.

This is Clint Eastwood we're talking about. I think you're okay.

Somehow I found that some of my least terribad stuff happened when I decided to throw aesthetics to the wind and make something deliberately old and/or ugly and/or wretched, so there's tons of lines in there.

For some reason I'm not feeling too entirely disappointed when I look at older stuff like that, so I'm beginning to think I should start doing it again. Man I haven't drawn anything in way too long.

The reference pic I was using was a pretty young one, though! http://klausming.files.wordpress.com/2010/05/dirtyharry.jpg

So basically Stush doesn't draw muscly women, he draws muscly people, and the women are only hyooge compared to men in real life.

With this kind of illustration, the linework is key. All the lines on the face (and indeed background and foreground) are pointing to the center of his face. Eyebrows, cheek lines... it all points STRAIGHT at a point between the eyes, and the nose is turned up. It's distracting and makes his face look like a vortex of some kind. I think that's the real problem there. The features are pretty proportional and fairly well positioned. There are small problems with the 3 dimensionality of the face in general, and the eyes could use some more firm setting, but i realize this is just a sketch, so that stuff is mostly secondary.

While working on this, two independent people told me they thought it was Kevin Bacon.

Not exactly ready for pripyat. But perfect for a stroll through the park with a 30mm autocannon strapped to your hip.

I added a bit of colour to give it some more clarity.

I'm gonna give it a nice shading, not the usual crappy job I do. I really need to learn how to do hair good.

Can you guys give me your opinions on a few things? I wanna know if her shoulders look alright? Her hair's supposed to be like, spilling over the front of them a little, but I think it's a bit hard to tell, maybe if I shade and highlight it right, it'll be easier to see. And I think something is a little off about the face, Maybe I should move the eyes and nose down a little? What do you guys think?

I would say try moving her nose and eyes down a little, she needs a little more forehead and the space between the nose and upper lip is a little too large.

The shoulders? She looks stronger than most men, if that's what you're going for then they're ok, but if you want her to be more feminine, take away some muscle.

The hair? You can make it look like it's coming down a little in the front (doesn that make sense?) with shadows and highlights, but a little more hair and even loose strands might help.

Also, give her some eyelashes, eyelashes are pretty. ^o^

Of course, I don't know shit.
