...you guys HAVE noticed the tendency for new characters to start out with one costume and switch to another later in the film, yes?

I doubt that's actually concept art, unless they hired "fanboiii" to work on it.

But it's still a far cry from this:

*sigh* I miss the high collar and the leash ring. Otherwise the costume is pretty faithful to the Cooke design.

Honestly it'd look less ridiculous if she weren't sporting that stupid mask... goggle... thing, or letting Batman get a good look at the kittens.

On second thought, the hair really does bug me. Short haired Selina manages to look more alluring than Anne Hathaway, and that says alot, because Selina Kyle is fictional and Anne Hathaway is Anne Hathaway.

The costume in that first picture looks a lot more like it's from an Unreal Engine 3 game than anything.

There's something about that second picture that make it look a lot more like a cosplayer than real actor with professional image editing.

It's the pose.

Catwoman should never stop being cockily sexy.

Yeah, I was thinking it was probably the pose. That and the fact that nothing about that costume really says "Cat-woman".

Like, I am not demanding a fur suit here. I'm just saying that, maybe, you know, Catwoman of all characters should have some vaguely feline aspect to her. This is probably why the bob-cut fits and a long mane doesn't. The bob is sleeker

That outfit is just sorta "IMA RAPPEL IN TIGHT PLEATHER NOW. KTHX."  You could put Carrie-Ann Moss in that outfit and make it a Matrix outtake and no one would even blink.

Maybe they're just gun-shy after the Halle Berry catastrophe.   :whoops:

Except that Halle Berry and her costume were the only reasons anyone ever watched that pile.

I'm sorry but Anne Hathaway is the last person in Hollywoof I'd think of when I was thinking of sultry seductive thief.
She had already lost points for that but then Catwoman is just generic black suit and night vision goggles?

The only way I can see this working is if she's just a cat burglar at first movie. Then Batman is talking to her and calls her a Cat Woman. She then decides to kick it up a notch, Batman-style. That's the only sense I can make from this costume.

Still have the wrong actress, though.

While Halle Berry is pretty easy on the eyes, the only time I could ever possibly find the outfit from her Catwoman movie sexy is some point many years after I'm already dead.

I'm willing to give Anne Hathaway and by extent Christopher Nolan the benefit of the doubt here. I recall finding then-cute heartthrob Heath Ledger's casting as the Joker every bit as weird a decision but damned if he didn't knock that shit out of the park. So... who knows? Maybe she'll be really good!

It's worth noting that Nolan insists on calling her Selina Kyle, and not Catwoman.

You nerds can stop freaking out now; it's a fake.

The goggles, however, are real.

I walked by where they were shooting last week. I took a picture of an errant batbike for fun. It was kind of silly how many people were taking pictures without being mauled by bears. Even the local news ran photos and videos that you really would assume to be kept under wraps.
