So I feel like we need to eliminate 1:[D;E;F;G] as possible starting locations to head off a beeline to the goal.

Does that mean you think we should shoot at one of those squares or does it mean you think we shouldn't?

I feel like we should, but I guess it's true that those spaces don't offer a significant improvement for the boat.

Actually, you can beeline to the end squares from pretty much any square by doing a 45-degree turn at the right time.

Yerp.

That being said, and this is a somewhat WIFOM dilemma, but I figure the wolfpires would intentionally head towards danger, with the ability to veer off relatively last minute with diagonal turns. That would actually put it in the EFG range, though I don't know why G seems to be so popular right now. Well, two votes not necessarily being popular but whatever.

Well, we don't have much to go on. I think we can be reasonably confident they haven't come in through A or J, because being in those rows would leave them with less room to turn away. D would also limit their maneuverability.

I'm going to go with relying on power garnered information to win the game, not crackpot first round guessing games.

I vote for F1

It seems too obvious, but that might be the best reason to vote for F1.

Did I miss something here? What specifically makes you say F1, Geo?

It's the dead center, Gahitsu. Let's get the day over with. F1

it's not really the dead center, cause there are ten rows.  E and F are equally central.

just saying.

Of the two center rows, F is the least obscured.

It seems too obvious, but I suppose there's really nothing else we can do with as little information as we have. F1

There isn't really one starting square that's substantially more advantageous than any other, so no matter what we aim for it's a wild guess at best. Since we're pretty unlikely to score a direct hit on the first day, it's probably better to rule out the obvious lines of attack first.

Hey Lou, do you think it makes more sense to for-sure kill a bad or to do your thing night one and (probably) start a small inno-bloc?

I agree with this, and the closest danger for them right now is in row D, so I vote for D1.

An innocent bloc would mean that innocents with repeatable sources of information have a safe way to make that information public without incurring the wrath of the Vile Manstabber or Power-Blocking Thug. It's also more of a sure thing than trying to find a Wolfpire who may have already used their power by that time already. I think more public information would be stronger than shutting down a Wolfpire power for good, but in either case our Leftenant will have to choose wisely.

That was my thinking.
Getting rid of any wolf (before or after they use their power) is stronger than a 2-man bloc, sure, but a 2 man-bloc from day 2 onwards is a strong consolation prize.

Yes you missed the entire point.

NOTHING makes me say F1.

This is the first turn and I frankly don't see any reason for the wolves to pick any space over any other space. In my opinion the game will be determined by use of powers as the turns progress. I'm not going to bother trying to out guess the wolves with no actual information at hand.

So I'm just voting for a random square for now. We have no idea if they are trying to second, third, fourth, etc guess us so a random stab in the dark has the same chance of succeeding as anything else.

Since the game's possibility-space explodes next turn this might be the best odds we have of hitting the ship for a while.
