If you haven't already gotten Analogue: A Hate Story, it's $2.50 now and you should.

I'm envious of anybody who can get more than 4 items into their lit before realizing that if they continue, they ain't playing any games this whole weekend.

I can honestly say the only game I've purchased and haven't played is Mount & Blade. I've received a couple more games as gifts or for free (Portal, Humble Indie Bundle #1, Evil Genius), but I never actually intended to play them (though I might at some point if bored and curious).

I've even stopped buying MTG cards unless I pretty damned certain I'm going to use in a deck at some point (though that's still a pretty fair amount of cards).

Just don't ask me how many unpainted minis I have that I'm not planning to use (well, even that's not THAT bad... it's maybe around 40+, and I'll probably wind up selling some at some point).

So it works out that I don't have too much "idle money" in any of my hobbies. Of course, collectively, it's another story...

What a cute and short list.

AND I INTEND TO KEEP IT THAT WAY

(Actually I decided mostly to cut it off at the previous console generation, and omit games I don't intend to finish like Super Paper Mario and Twilight Princess.  And games like Scott Pilgrim that I'm only going to play when I have company anyway.

But crap, still forgot Castlevania.)

So apparently Steam's got a new frontend called Big Picture, designed for TV's.  I've already got XBMC for that but it sure looks nice, and a lot less fiddly than XBMC's ROM Collection Browser plugin.

AT ANY RATE, there's a sale on "controller-friendly games".  Sonic Generations is marked down yet again, and so is the Casino Night DLC, which is currently going for 39 cents.

Okay, fine, for 39 cents I will buy some DLC.

It still amuses me to no end that Monkey Island Special Edition is in that mix.  Yes, all that means is that it has full controller support even through installation, but considering how many games that were actually made for controllers don't it implies a weird level of technical dedication.

Yes but it costs less than a round of ACTUAL pinball.

Anyway Defenestration liked it.

Amazon will pay you to buy Far Cry 2.  Apparently actually installing it will fill your toilet full of candiru or something though, so it's probably overpriced.

gog.com giving away Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition for free.  Nice if you need a quick reminder what all the fuss was ever about (hint: not strippers).

I missed Half Minute Hero the first couple times it came around, but picked it up for $3.39 just now. What a genius little thing!

Torchlight 2 is a lot of fun for ten bucks. It feels like Diablo without a lot of the stat / enhancement clutter.

It sticks with the DII style of skill gains but feels like there's more than one or two correct answers for each class.

Half the fun in that game comes from making builds that by all means should never work in a million years but actually kind of do. In fact, for one of the classes (outlander), doing the obvious basic "default" thing might be the single worst option.

This is the most appealing thing anyone has said about any game I have heard in a long time.
