Online Hookers / DOMINIONIONS - sage sage sage
« on: May 11, 2012, 01:03:47 PM »
http://dominion.isotropic.org/play

Dominion is a deck-building game, except the deck building happens as you play and everyone has the same 10 starting cards. So like some of your starting cards are money and you spend them by discarding them for new deck cards.

It's either fun or stupid depending on if you're good at math or REALLY good at math respectively.

I'll be on the next hour if anybody wants to PRAYER 2 or 3

Cool online options:

Code: [Select]
identical starting hands * use point tracker * veto mode
require card(s): ________ (repeat last game)
card selection constraints: ________ (add row)

I'm so glad there's no V.A.T.S. system.

May already have been said somewhere, but turning up the difficulty will require more shots to fell enemies, increasing exp. gain in that attack over the course of the game.

McDohl: That's the only good compromise, imho. Calvin's hair is mostly a well-refined scribble, which doesn't translate into ANY medium perfectly. Thanks for bringing that to my attention, though I feel like I noticed a less elaborate version of that in The Binding of Isaac recently. A few lumps and things are sided wonky in relation to each other, so at certain directions he'll have a lump opposite a rock and at others together with a rock, which I felt was a very minor annoyance.

Coming soon to online video games if it isn't already here: Ads in loading screens or televisions inside windows on streets showing 'real world' commercials.

Yeah, I was speaking more to the Calvin problem: Calvin is drawn in a way that makes it impossible to find a 3D version of him that looks, from ALL angles, like Calvin. Calvin's mouth is the funkiest bit of conversion and his chin and hair are also problem areas. Herge started with a 3D model of Tintin in his/her head, then sketched him at various angles in two dimensions (though not completely consciously, I'd wager). Not all of her work follows this pattern, but it's like a reverse-engineering of how cell shading works, and I like it for the same reason I like particle specific force fields: I'm a huge nerd.

I liked it better when it was less detailed and called cell shading or more detailed and called Art Nouveau.

From an artists' view, the style this artist used created such illusion of 3d that there's a real satisfaction to seeing it expanded into three dimensions. I hope that helps.
