Call me naïve, but I'm inclined to believe that the medical records are more accurate than the suspicions of experts who haven't examined him.
...but they did examine the medical records.
I'm even gullible enough to entertain the notion that the reason he doesn't want to face psychological evaluation is because undergoing the testing would be a political liability whether or not he passes.
It probably is, but on the other hand just
ignoring the possibility that he could be put in a position of way-too-much power and then literally lose his mind strikes me as extremely irresponsible. Doubly so if his reason for endangering the country like that is simply to
get said power. It's the sort of irresponsibility that makes him extremely dangerous with or without the delusion, and it's the first thing I'd like to see him get called out on when it comes time to throw down. Maybe second after the torture thing.
My point was not that he's in excellent health, but that Spaco's supposition was moot (because, let me clarify, those clearly are neither the diagnosis nor the symptoms of a man who will deteriorate into uselessness in five months).
Even if he's in perfect shape now, it's not a huge stretch to say that a man going on 72 years old might not hold up well under the stress of running for President of the United States.
