And Miami Herald's addendum as the company tries to save face in light of this miserable PR.

People like to assume the worst from owners and CEOs but I'm willing to take "No, that's not our actual policy" on faith in cases where it isn't obviously a lie.  There's something really fishy going on with the whole "fired on spot" scenario anyway; you'd expect SOP to at least include being put on leave and reviewed first.

Sounds like beef with the immediate supervisor honestly. Dude doesn't want the job back and all.

Well, d'you suppose the head of the company (Jeff Ellis), who said "That's not company policy," and the supervisor (Susan Ellis), who said "That's company policy," are related?

No where in that article does it say she was his immediate supervisor, just that she was a supervisor for that company, but I guess you could read it like you did. I don't know man I was just saying that a ground floor supervisor can read a policy a lot different than someone in an office and that he might not want the job back because being fired and then having someone higher up give you your job back is never a good situation to have to work in.

I think that regardless of the details, that company is now in a world of shit, deservedly or otherwise.
