I read 14.  Fixed a link; noticed I'd managed to lose Kazz's post at the end and put it back in too.

Noticed one dead link in there, to http://roger.pyoko.org/random/soundwave_cracker.mp3 .  Anybody got the file?

XV's uploaded, but as of this writing my site's not loading correctly; if you see an avatar under my name by the time you read this, it's back up and the link should work.  Or you've just got my avatar cached.

I've eyeballed the formatting and it looks okay, but I haven't read through it yet.

Files I'm missing:
Random's avatar ( http://random.pyoko.org/mrc-av.jpg )
Brent's second avatar ( http://brentai.pyoko.org/images/paperrockscissors.jpg )

The Paperrockscissors is Big Boss's unstoppable secret weapon.

If I can't find it hanging around somewhere - and I probably can't - I'll just make a new one.  It's pretty easy.

Whoops -- forgot to upload the stylesheet last night.  It's there now.

(Also -- anyone else seeing it render really slowly under Webkit?  It renders instantly for me under Firefox, but takes several seconds in Konqueror, even when I load it locally.)

16 is up, with corresponding updates to the index and character guide.

"But Thad!" you may say.  "Isn't it a little early to be finishing the updates?  The eleventh anniversary is still almost three weeks away!  How will you celebrate it now?"

Don't worry.  I have a plan.

Did you... did you just create a median effect without actually posting a Katestory chapter?

...Realized the stylesheet for the first 8 had gotten lost, presumably when I evac'ed my site from Pyoko.  I re-uploaded it, which may or may not be a good thing given that it's utterly hideous.

Is the content below the fold when you view your site, Thad?

...depends what you mean by "fold".  If you mean "below the fold" in the standard sense, ie posts consist of a preview and then you click "continue" or somesuch thing to see the entire post, then no; I hate having to jump between my RSS reader and my browser to get the full article.

If you mean under that intro table I've got at the top, then yeah.  It's sort of a holdover from the old site design, but I like it.  Adds some color.

"Below the fold" actually usually means the user is required to scroll down to view the content (can also refer to a continue button, or basically any conscious action on the user's part - scrolling is just the most common.)  If that's what sei means then something's screwed up, because on my browser all your content is hugging the top like the apocalypse is coming.

Brent listed the definition as I know it.  I usually see what Thad described called the cut.

Thad, if by "intro table" you mean the two cell one with your picture on the left and "Greetings..." on the right, then yes.  If that table also includes the "now with more gray" box immediately above it, then also yes.  When I've got the thing maximized (at 1280x800, but not using the F11 fullscreen) in Firefox I don't even see the first title of the first blog entry without scrolling down.

You could probably buy some room by stuffing the top "Now with more gray!" box into the right cell of that intro table, if nothing else (though yeah, it wouldn't feel centered the same way, if only because of the borders).

Speaking of corporate sellouts, from ABDN's Dead Space review's comments:

#  Jeff Hobbs Says:

Fantastic review, as always.

Whatever happened to the podcast?

#  108 Says:
December 2nd, 2008 at 2358

thanks for the praise! the more people praise us, the less inspired we are to stop writing reviews

as for the podcast: it’s a possibility that our ultra-talented podcast reader, got a job

we will pretend that it was his work on action button dot net (ABDN) that got him the job

:(

we are still careful to imagine his voice as we write every one of these reviews, at any rate

At first I was like, "Goddamn, this is a long review." Then I remembered.

Thad, I'm sure I'm stating the obvious at this point, but it looks like between your avatar kersploding and not being able to access your website...

The website is down. (obligatory link here)

Yeah, I know.  I expect my old boss will go in and fix it on Monday.  I like him, so I decided not to bother him about it on Christmas weekend.

(If it had been my OTHER old boss, the one who was working there when I quit, I would totally have E-Mailed him to gripe about it.  Might have been a little snotty about it, too.  "If I'd been aware it was okay just to leave Corp's Web server down and take a five-day weekend, I might still be working there."  That kind of thing.)

...some (hopefully temporary) redactions to the KateStory pages; Stef told me she's looking for work.  I didn't go the full O'Houlihan on this one (okay, maybe once), I just replaced her last name with "[...]" any time it popped up.  I THINK I've avoided any instances of "Kelly [...]n" in the process, but let me know if you find any.
