You know, considering how wonderful every episode of Batman: Brave and the Bold has been so far, I really have to wonder why it's so hard to catch. There's the premier episode on Friday night, and the encore early next morning, and then thirty straight fuck hours of Johnny Test and 6Teen.

Are Cartoon Network execs allergic to money?

Cartoon Network does that shit all the time. IIRC, they completely stopped Airing JLU halfway through one of the seasons.

Not to defend CN's oftentimes-boneheaded scheduling decisions (I wanted more He-Man, dammit, to say NOTHING of the short shrift JLU got in its last two seasons), but it DOES bear noting that they've put B:TB&TB in a pretty prominent spot in their lineup, and can't exactly run twelve episodes a day when there have only been three episodes.

That said, a few extra encores wouldn't hurt anybody.

Yeah, that's all I'm asking, really.

Anyway, Re: Christmas with the Red Tornado: awesome. "Of course you don't understand Christmas spirit! You're a robot! You don't have any emotions! Yay!"

been watching Brave and the Bold with friends and while it's (obviously) a much different animal than B:TAS it's really great.

I just love how it's the "lighthearted" and "whimsical" Batman show and the Christmas special has
flashbacks to Batman's parents being murdered
and the most horrible version of young Bruce ever.
How many versions of Batman have had him not even liking Zorro right after they saw it?  That was pretty brutal.
Yeah, while I wholeheartedly endorse that there's a place for the dark Batman AND the goofy Batman, I'm not so sure how I feel about switching back and forth between the two so fast it leaves your head spinning.

I mean, I laughed, but I think if I were eight it would have traumatized me.
Well there is the Nolan/Bale Batman actually walking out on the show, thus taking partial responsibility for his parents actually being in a secluded enough area to get shot in.
Which is bullshit, incidentally.

How the fuck many OPERA HOUSES do you know that are in a part of town where people get murdered in alleys?

(Tangentially, I loved Batman #681's twist ending that "Zurr en Arrh" were actually
Thomas Wayne's last words, a distorted repeating that if he were real, they'd probably throw Zorro in Arkham.
)

I think it's meant to show just how fucked up Gotham City really is.

...that, or it's clumsily justified by Gotham City being that fucked up.

Downtown? Sure.

You know, as our new D.A. you might want to figure out where your jurisdiction ends.

Eddie Murphy and Shia Labeouf have been lined up to star in the next Batman movie, according to reports.

What a reputable source!

Wow.  So, uh, they did Superman's death verbatim.  Right down to nobody much caring how the hell he even died.

Wow.  So, uh, they did Superman's death verbatim.  Right down to nobody much caring how the hell he even died.

DC's been doing these teaser images periodically for a few years now; how much of that pic is literal and how much is symbolic remains to be seen.

That looks like Dick in the gray costume in the middle and Tim in the blue one off to the left.  I think that's Alfred in the beret.  That's gotta be Harv in the two-tone suit; can't say offhand who the guy on the box is but I'm going to go with Jason because I don't see him anywhere else.  (Could also be Azrael, but you'd think they'd want to play DOWN the similarities to Knightfall.  There's also a certain resemblance to the fake Batmen from earlier in Morrison's run, and to the Damian version of Batman from #666.)  That looks like Damian with Hush off to the right.

Don't know who's under the box, but it looks like a woman's hand and I don't see Selina or Babs anywhere in the shot.

I think I'm actually most curious what Harl's doing in the shot.

It's kind of a cool pic, but I still don't really intend to pick up Battle.  Countdown had a cool teaser pic too, but it turned out to be a bunch of stupid crap that had fuck-all to do with the Morrison story it was supposed to be a precursor to.  I think I'll stick with the flagship Bat-books -- I'll read the O'Neil and Gaiman interludes, and the Dini and Morrison stuff when they come back (and apparently Dini's doing a Zatanna mini too), but it's hard for me to get interested in the extraneous tie-in stuff.

Doubt it. Two-Face is typically portrayed with all the normal on one side and all the crazy on the other.

That Batman's costume is more like Harle's than anything, really.
