Anyway, speaking of One Piece, there is something that I don't like about it: Nico Robin. She's an awesome character and she has a cool power, but she doesn't seem to get many chances to flex her ever-numerous muscles. She kicked the crap out of Pell and that one fat fuck during the Skypeia arc; other than that she really hasn't had any real fights of her own. Maybe it's just how her style works (either she snaps your back in two immediately, or she doesn't), but it's still pretty annoying.

I might have liked the Foxy arc a lot more if people weren't being forced to swear "Royalty" to each other.
A little touchy-fealty about our translation quality?

It was initially from a thread about me being pissed at half-assed scanlations/hacks/K-MMOs/Things which are free but suck. i.e. "The price of being free"

That it focused heavily on bad scanlations should give you an idea of how much scanlation reading I was doing during that period.

Read the Thriller Bark and Shit-Fan Islands arcs.

I'm not saying she hasn't done cool shit. She just hasn't had many chances to be singularly awesome.

Besides, whenever Franky's Heavy-Chaku show up, they pretty much eclipse everything else with their awesome.

DN seems to be unaware of the FEMALES IN  SHONEN NEVER DO ANYTHING rule.

It's called Shounen for a reason.  It is made for and by young men.  And Young Japanese men do not like their women doing anything useful.  It might emasculate them.

Because if there's something Japanese men avoid like the plague, it's emasculation.

 Clearly Brentai has never had any fantasies.

He is a Dragon Quest loving whore. :wrong:

EDIT: Oh! Speaking of adhering to that rule without fail.

EDIT EDIT:
Nevermind. I just got shown dragonball porn and it reminded me that AT broke the rule ONCE.

I wish I didn't know what I was rambling about. It's called Dragonball. Let's pretend I didn't ramble about it whilst going mad.

Alternate subtitle for this thread: "Like anime, but with more genitals"

...I need to read some actual manga again.  I should get the rest of Parasyte already.

Sadly, the last couple of chapters are part of what inspired the now-dead, "Price of being free" thread.

Here's a pickle. What do I do with 37 back-issues of US-version Shonen Jump?

Backstory: I subscribed to Shonen Jump from Issue #1 in 2003 until October 2005, when I cancelled to buy it locally and promptly forgot to do that with any regularity. I got behind in my reading, and when I decided to re-read from the start I discovered that Issue #2 was missing. By then, the market for back issues on ebay had dried up, so I could neither replace my missing issues nor sell the existing ones.

Do I accept the sunk cost and start buying individual volumes--five years' backlog or 18 volumes each of Naruto, One Piece, Hikaru no Go and maybe Shaman King? Import 27 back-issues, hunt down 9 out-of-stock back-issues, and keep going? Decide I can live without shonen manga and use the old issues for kindling?

It turns out I can forgive a flimsy altogether-too-young super detective thrust into an even flimsier complication to his detective work if I imagine the Ace Attorney sound track playing in the background.

Man, so the next volume of Blade of the Immortal came out.

Fuck are we finally getting out of the dungeon? Is the plot ACTUALLY ADVANCING?! About fucking time... If this storyline goes on any longer the series is going to turn into Dragonball fucking Z.

<-- is still pissed about BotI getting cancelled in individual-issue format.

I have been reading scans of a manga called Mirai Nikki lately. I am usually not much for reading manga but this one has actually kept my interest. The story is essentially a group of people are given items of power that enable them to see aspects of the future (the details of how they see the future is determined by their personalities and histories). Of course, some of the people use this power for evil, things get complicated, and the mayhem ensues.

The action scenes are well done. That is to say, I don't have to read through and look at the same page several times to figure out what happened in an action heavy scene. It has a pretty vanilla main male character, but the supporting cast really shines. A lot of crazy women. And not the cute kind of baka mallet crazy like in Tenchi. Murderous, obsessive crazy. Pretty fun.

Haven't bothered checking for an anime or anything but if you find the manga, I think it is worth checking out.

All my stuff is coming out in Feburary. Higurashi 2, Haruhi Novel 1, Zetsubo Sensei 1. Oy oy oy.

Question for the weeaboos: Reliable place to pick up figurines and little things like keychains etc etc for my animoo & mango series? What's a good reliable website? Willing to pay a couple extra bucks for peace of mind.
