Remedies!
« on: June 10, 2009, 12:25:30 PM »

I have perpetual black circles under my eyes. Is there anything to do to save this region?

And before you ask why yes I do have sleeping problems, feel free to talk about averting this disaster as well.

Also hair on the back at all: y/n?

As for the eyes: I seem to remember (but I can't recall from where, so take it with a grain of salt) that this might be related to a mild iron deficiency. Eat some raisin bran or something.

You can rub whole milk on them, which if your complexion is otherwise light enough, should work if you do it enough. You don't need much. If they're puffy you can put Preparation H on them (not a lot) BUT not all Prep H products have the right ingredient so you have to look up which one you need and buy the one with that ingredient. I think they only sell it in Canada now or something. Also I think Bill's right about iron.

Back hair is... well, I don't like it. I don't have any but my boyfriend does. I don't make him shave it though, and I don't care enough to do it myself.

For fixing sleep the best thing I do is just go to bed at a certain time ever night no matter what.

Agreed on fixing the sleep thing.  Try some breathe-right strips.  I use these.

I'd say the usual, "I can't sleep without earplugs," but now I can't even sleep with earplugs and therefore am unable to help.

What is wrong with you vampires. I sleep six hours a night like a rock and have energy all day long. Are you all playing too much TF2 or what?

I have no idea how it works, and it might be a placebo, but I got some of this aromatherapy spray for Christmas and it has helped my sleep ever since. I used to wake up two or three times per night and I would feel like crap in the mornings because my rest was disturbed, but when I use this spray I tend to sleep through the night. If I do wake up for no reason, it's usually within an hour before my alarm goes off anyway, so it's not a big deal.

My wife actually can't sleep without those.

This sounds totally inane, but: Exercise helps you to sleep, because it makes you tired. :mahboi:

Unfortunate side effects may include (but are not limited to) a decreased flab levels, increased libido, boosts to your self confidence, sunshine, or other unwanted dangers. Consult your doctor before commencing treatment.

No, I generally find it harder to sleep after any invigorating activity like that.

...yes or also like that shut up.

Exercise in the morning; sleep well at night due to general fatigue. Exercise at night, have trouble sleeping because of being totally pumped

I tend to exercise after work when I do get it, which is less than I'd like.

Doing it before dinner makes dinner taste better and eating helps you relax/slow down.

Exercise in the morning: Ragnarok. Exercise at night: Ragnarok.

I was able to get to sleep by 2 AM last night and wake up AT 8:50 AM, in time to turn off my alarm, which is fine. I used to be trained this well, because I fucking hate the sound of any alarm clock.

The day feels much better!

Anyways I had another interesting question so here I go already:

Are there any obvious tells that someone finds you repulsive? Or subtle ones? Or any tips at all? I need something to go on besides my crippling self-doubt. It's like a compass: always points to "I must be hideous."
