Careful, Niku.  He might start writing a screed about you.  I think it'd call you fat and then ramble on about the Dave Matthews Band for half a page for some reason.

my crocs sort of stuck to the tops of my feet in an uncomfortable way today

perhaps i will have to wear them with socks

which would be even uglier and also sort of defeat the purpose of wearing them to avoid stinky feets

uh oh

oh, also, I went to go shoe shopping yesterday, but the 12s were too narrow and the 13s were too long.  I have wide feet.

Look for a 12W then.  They do make WIDE shoes, in some brands.

I'd mock Kazz for this, but I lost that right when I bought Teva sandals.

What's wrong with Tevas?  I used to have a great pair of Tevas.

I've been happy with Chacos for the past 8 years or so, though.  (In the summer.)  They're spendy, but they last a long time; they're okay for hiking and you can get them wet.

they were cheap and shitty.  So I got the Crocs.

Oh gosh!  My crocs aren't gonna impress anybody!  I'll just start wearing $400,000 LeBron James Brand I Be Jumpin' High In This Bitch Sneakers.

...Okay, we've already got an emote for "strawman".  But it's become increasingly clear we need one for "false choice".  What would that look like?

I have wide feet.

I can relate.  My feet aren't actually wide but have high insteps, so I wear wide shoes.  That generally precludes just walking into a regular shoe store and trying things on.

FUCKING SERIOUSLY.

I'd say it looks like this.

Dunno how well that comes out scaled down, though.

:falsechoice:

I had to use MSPaint for that.

Irfanview  is pretty nice for quick resizing, cropping, color tweaking, and format conversion.  Light program.

I like "false dichotomy" more than "false choice."

That aside, we could always get some kind of general fallacy icon.

...other than :disapprove:

That blood looks like a fucking mole.  I hate moles.  (Except the world's third strongest mole.)

I'd mock Kazz for this, but I lost that right when I bought Teva sandals.

I was under the impression that all of those held for the Tevas I bought.  ("Sport sandal.")  Are there any

I pretty much refused to wear nothing but boots or visually plain sneakers until I got a pair of cheapish New Balance shoes.  They were "frustratingly comfortable," as I was convinced I'd look like a big fag wearing them, but they felt too good to pass up.  I still think their ornate detailing makes them look silly, but they helped get rid of shin splints when walking quickly on a treadmill.  (So did increasing the incline.)

Function over form, in the end.  Nothing new.

Oh my god, I love moles. I love them on the face or on the tit, but only one.

I am also a fan of moles that are the 3rd strongest.

Can't you just buy some normal shoes and put gel inserts in them or something? Everytime I see someone wearing crocs I think "well there goes someone who thinks Weekly World News is real".

I've tried insoles and they make the shoes too cramped inside.  Believe it or not, putting something new inside the shoe reduces the space available for your feet.

BTW, I got some new shoes.  like, real ones.  the crocs will replace my worn out sandals for sandal duty.

My work boots are some of the most comfortable footwear I own, but I haven't worn them since I stopped working blue collar jobs that required them.

There are other comfortable shoes out there guys. You don't have to go around wearing your work boots all the time just because they were the first pair of comfortable footwear you found and worked in.

Nah. Comfort is not the only reason. I suppose I just like having shoes that serve in all conditions. The fire-and-forget of footwear. I have lost count of of the number of times I was grateful to be wearing sturdy boots at the time. Running shoes or loafers or whatever just feel way too flimsy now. And I hate wearing sandals or open shoes of any kind.

Also, crocs are phenomenally ugly... but bitching about the modern day equivilant of farmer Hendrik's clogs is really fucking pointless.
