Gaiman himself is concluding the arc he started? That's really cool. I know his arc was really out there but I liked it.

So I made a single player character to poke around and figure out how shit works.  How does single player vs. multiplayer work out?  Can I just pop my character back and forth between the two?  Is progress saved?  Should I have separate single player and multiplayer characters if I want my single player to be ~pure~ and not loaded up with GodAxes forged from Mt. Fucklympus?  Yaddayadda.

A quick test implies that your character keeps everything on their person and in their ship between single/multi/whatever. If you replate your ship in gold and are wearing godarmor you'll pop into multiplayer that way so yeah, make a fresh one if you want to desperately bang stones together.

Also you can only port back to your ship if there's a clear path straight up from where you are

Always look at the little flavor-text descriptions on the hint recipes, sometimes they'll outright reveal ingredients or tools

for G. Chicken and such it mentioned "minced"

An RPG where gameplay literally revolves around ripping customers off as hard as you can might not be the best place for encouraging people to spend on micros.

Also even though it's a paid game they have the standard "Buy Jewels with real money to cheat you greedy bastard" system, just uh ignore that, you start with 5 of them and I haven't used any

This is a little RPG for android (and probably iphone who knows) where you run a bar/restaurant. It's surprisingly fun. I've roped Zara and Gau into playing it. It feels a lot like the Atelier games (because it was made by one of the same dudes that worked on that)

It's also on sale right now for like 2 bucks. You can download the Lite version to play the beginning bit for free and then pay and keep your save file (but it'll still be "Adventure Bar LITE: Full Version" on the title screen if you're anal about that)

Gameplay goes like this:
-Cook food by combining ingredients and tools (pot, knife, oven)
-Buy new recipes, follow partially-revealed Hint Recipes, or experiment yourself by tweaking existing combinations
-Every day you can make a single trip to an area outside of town, whether that's another town with different shops or a dungeon area
-Dungeons have ingredients laying around to gather, monsters that give ingredients when you defeat them, and treasure
-Killing monsters grinds skills but does NOT give you XP or level ups, all XP and levels comes from eating food you cook
-End the day by opening the restaurant and letting people buy from the menu
-Game story progresses based on your Bar Rank, new events become avaliable when it raises via sales or from winning Royal Cooking Contests

Tips:
-THERE IS NO AUTOSAVING. Save your game before you quit! Just like in the old days! Also don't fucking tab out if you haven't saved it doesn't like that apparently and will just quit
-Go here for cheat info if you get pissed off after too many failed recipe tries http://happyenna.blogspot.com/p/adventure-bar-story.html
-Make an Apple Pie as soon as you can
-Get the Catalog as soon as you can too http://happyenna.blogspot.com.au/2012/09/adventure-bar-story-secret-catalog.html
-Explore the starting town thoroughly, there's another screen to the right
-Making things from scratch always seems to cost slightly less than purchasing them premade

The one that later joins the party but is missing most of the attacks and HP he had when you fought him earlier.

And who pretty much just tags along because he's bored?

10
I think that actually is a screwup. Direct japanese script translations have the party going "No child could be this mischevious" after the stove blows up at them (assuming someone screwed with it to make it that way I guess), then the old man flipping out.
I only care because the characterization of this guy as a really bad drunkard, rather than just nuts, is something easily missed and it's a lot more tragic
He brings up kids himself, then says that? In the SNES I thought Sabin said something about kids and he replied. Translation error which way?

Quote from: VodalianStallion
True story:
I was reading a Magic the Gathering:Shadowmage comic when I was younger, and my mom and her friend interrupted me.
"Who is the woman with the big boobs?" they asked, pointing to the female planeswalker, "Is she your girllllfriend?"
Then they went back to drinking wine.

this quote still haunts me because it reminds me that bullies have children

<@Squizzle> Basically, murder people for salt now, because everyone will be murdering for salt later. You want to get in on the ground floor of saline homicide, and use your riches to purchase protection.

Caught a Big Bang theory ad where the "joke" was "I've never played D&D with girls before!" "It's okay, sweetie, nobody has!"

Impressive to see that show crossing the line from offensively stupid to offensively sexist in addition. I will go inform all the female gamers I know that pop culture has decided they either don't exist, or that they're not real women.

It's okay though, it's for the sake of continuing a schoolyard bully level paradigm of guys being judged based on how many chicks they bang. Remember being into anything that doesn't lead to you putting your dick in a woman means you're not a man, you should devote every waking hour to getting laid.

Fuck the Big Bang Theory, fuck the writers of the Big Bang Theory, fuck the actors, and fuck everyone who enjoys the show.

I want to downplay it as much as anyone, but "it could have been worse" is cold comfort for the dead and injured.

I'm amazed by that Patton Oswalt quote, though. I had no idea he was so eloquent.

Two confirmed dead, many injured, people are missing limbs.

I admit I'm not as good at this game as others but "No, mortals, don't kill me, I'm not a werewolf...I'm a vampire!" seems like a poor defense.

Defenestration.

Can we actually throw him out a window? It would be ironic.
