You can't blame him for everything in the universe not crapping magic rainbows and puppies after he's barely been there more than a fiscal quarter though.

Right. Any such judgments will require a decent amount of hindsight and a year or two to work with.

Given the wording of the question, it just seems like a general feel good 'responsibility'. And no one really likes people who 'blame' others. That might bias things a bit.

A better poll question would ask if Bush or Obama is more at fault for problem X.

Pushing back Islamic insurgents from locations is a temporary victory at best, and will come at the cost of some public support.  I hope the soldiers keep garrisons, camps, and patrol bases in Swat as well as the other major centers of the FATA for the long haul.  We are nowhere near the cheerful stage just yet.

The geography of why USA will come out of the recession on top of the world.

And this has nothing to do with the decline of birth rates in the civilized world elsewhere..

Ahem. It seems they forgot one country that hasn't been heavily affected by the recession.

Expert opinion seems to be "Brazil hasn't been affected by the recession... yet."

And might be able to duck it completely, maybe.

Come on Zara, people have been largely ignoring South America for over 200 years now.

Come on Zara, people have been largely ignoring South America ever since it was conquered by Europeans.

'Course, no one gave a damn about anywhere at all back then, as long as they could exploit the natives or the slaves they brought there to labor instead of exploiting the natives.

Despite this, Lula is an aspiring politician, in that he seems like the least scummy of the lot.  The use of microcredit to foster innovation is something that might deal with the slum problems in more of a meaningful way than socialist handouts could ever do.

Meanwhile, the condition up north in Venezuela continues to deteriorate due to falling oil revenues - state-controlled staple grocery stores are going out of business, or stocking insufficient quantities and inflation is starting to take a hit.

This is an indication.

As awesome of news this is, I can't wait to hear their side of the story. I especially wanna hear what these so-called "hostile acts" were that they supposedly commited.
