The Pizza Thread!
« on: November 22, 2011, 11:20:40 AM »

Anyone else think this is bullshit?

"After some debate, Congress voted that anything containing two tablespoons of tomato sauce can be labelled a vegetable, putting pizza into the vegetable category."

[tomato] sauce.

Congress did not declare pizza a vegetable.

Ps

Fuck you for making this thread, I was already considering pizza for lunch and now I actually want some.

Congress did not declare pizza a vegetable.

Bit of a nitpick.

Congress blocked new, healthier school lunch guidelines, based on pressure from school lunch vendors who, yes, want to sell pizza (which is not actually good for you regardless of how similar its sauce's nutrition label may be to one on a half-cup of apples).

"They declared pizza a vegetable" is a simplification, but not far from the truth, and hardly without precedent.

Well maybe if they offered only combination Pizza that is covered in vegetables, then it would be okay.

(like the one I am eating right now. This is amazing)

What are you doing Zach

This isn't horrible bad no good video videodrome

But on topic:

I think the biggest issue with this Pizza ordeal is that this is exactly what is wrong with American Politics. American politics made a decision not for the good of America/America's youth, but only for a frozen pizza corporation that lobbied them to do this. Period.

Eeyup.

They can't pass a fucking budget, but they can find time to represent their real constituents: deep-pocketed corporate lobbyists.

Congress declares pizza a vegetable.

Well, since you're kind of four days late on the subject, yes, I think this thread is bullshit.

how about a thread about actual Pizza then

because I just had the best. It took them 40 minutes to deliver/was kind of on the expensive side but it was worth every minute/cent. I find dominos and all other nearby pizza chains to me utterly disgusting. (Pizza Schmizza, Godfathers, Dominos.) So I reach out to something of a local brand that has never really done me wrong. The vegetables and pizza in general taste incredibly fresh and I always over-eat when it's in front of me.

I've still got half the pizza too, after a few people in the office took a slice.

Pizza Kids - We Like Pizza (Radio Version)

The Pizza Kids raise an undeniable point: they do like pizza with a wide variety of toppings. I'm hankering for a college town special right now with sauerkraut, bacon, and tomato slices. You know the kind -- from a local joint that gets most of their business from stoners and the comic book store next door.

A Papa Murphy's opened by me recently. After trying a traditional pizza and a stuffed Chicago style pizza, I came to the conclusion I would never buy digornio again

Thought this would be good to post here. It's a video about how to make leftover pizza better/crisp the crust on a pizza in a very efficient way.

TL;DW:
You put it in a frying pan covered in tinfoil. The oils from the bread are released, so you don't need to add any. Just keep it in there for a few minutes and it'll crisp up nicely.

Ps: Thad: Mind moving this to real life or something?

Noronorodororondor

I understand you think Pizza is serious business and we should follow the Boyd's Panel of Death guidelines for discussing it, but I just don't know if it's worth that much work dude

A Papa Murphy's opened by me recently. After trying a traditional pizza and a stuffed Chicago style pizza, I came to the conclusion I would never buy digornio again

Papa Murphy's is great for a cheap pizza solution. My friends use it for DnD night pretty consistently because it's like $25 for 5 people. I'll have to try some of their non-basic pizzas sometime though, like the stuffed crust. It's been a long time since I've had that.

Yeah, that is some serious garbage.

Now that I think about it though, there's no reason I can't make my own and have it taste a million times better. It's just a question of rolling the crust over some cheese.

I can't stand restaurant pizza anymore really, mine is so much better.

I like Little Caesar's Hot N' Ready pizzas. You hand them five dollars or so, they hand you a pizza right back.

It's just... so perfect. So very simple and perfect.

I will not apologize for my easily sated need for pizza and fuck anyone who thinks they're better than me because I don't eat pizza right.

I think this sums up how to eat a pizza the right way.
