THAT'LL LEARN 'EM.

But yeah. The "Anonymous" hacker group is made of a tight core. With a few underling cores for light work. The rest of it are taggers on who SAY they are in the group. Last estimate there are 8 inner guys, about 14-18 more outsiders that only get called in very rarely, and some 50,000 wannabe guys who have no affiliation. The core group said they had nothing to do with it. They can't speak for people they work with, and they certainly can't speak for people who claim to represent them.

And unfortunately, there were talks I heard about an investigation into 4chan again. As a hacker meeting ground. Now, I don't have a source at all and it sounds like wild speculation, but in any case, the hacker group has at most a loose association with the website anymore. So it'll be just a waste of time they could be using to do, you know, important things.

Within Anonymous there are some legitimate god damned internet wizards, but they wouldn't be very good wizards of they just ran about all willy-nilly like.

1: they'd have been totally unbearable cocks about it if they'd done it.

Teg I would make a joke about how the PSP Go doesn't have access to the entire PSP library but first you would have to have access to any of the PSP library.  :nyoro~n:

I've had a PSP for... 5 years now? I've got maybe 7 games for it. 2 of which I like. The other 5 are there so it doesn't feel like I wasted my money TOO much.
Oh well. Thanks to having a PS3, a Vaio, and PSN+,  I've got a lot of free PSX games to play on it. Or... I would...
But, you know.

I got a PSP pretty much to play Monster Hunter.
I really like Monster Hunter.

Also, I hear Sony is offering $1,000,000 Identity Fraud Insurance to US customers. AND a free month of PSN+!

As mentioned elsewhere, I have very few games for pretty much every console I own (PSP brings the average down to something like 4.2 per console, not counting the handful of digital games I have), and I don't think they're a waste of money. There's some stuff I wanted or the PSP, everything I actually want is available on the Go, and it was super cheap. What's the problem?

Besides, the Go is the secret best PSP.

Also, it looks like they'll be giving away some free games: there's supposed to be a list of five for the PS3 and list of four for the PSP, and you get to choose two.

Any speculation as to what this'll do for Sony in the long run? Heck, for gaming in the long run?

I don't think anyone involved in this understands that they might have changed gaming forever. That nice casual market that pays for so many of  the games we actually like is pretty terrified of the PS3 now thanks to this. If Sony can't sell Home and Move games to anyone anymore, do you really think they'll want to dump money into another Fumito Ueda project? Gaming really can't afford to live without the lowest common denominator anymore. Maybe at one point, but not now.

You know how Fox news thought pedophiles could get at kids through pictochat; and Nintendo created the worst online service in the industry, built entirely around the idea of never letting that happen? Imagine what's going to happen now that actual, reputable sources worldwide can demonstrate that a couple thousand people had their personal information stolen -much less their credit card info- just by signing up for online service.

But you know what this means, right? We're no longer the lowest common denominator!

I dunno. This is a huge face saving move. If it tickles the right, reasonable ears, it could undo a small mountain of bad press.

Problem is, I'm not sure they'll manage to break even on this. I know Sony's got a pretty huge amount of faith in its gaming arm, but I'm not sure they're going to be able to keep bankrolling risky decisions.
