... Is it normal to be compelled to spend every waking hour not dedicated to work on this game once you start it?

Holy fucking christ, this game is hard. The power curve is totally fucked up; I can waltz through a floor, stabbing everything in the face, and then everything on the next floor totally kicks my ass. I can't finish the first dungeon, and all the guides I check are talking about using skills that none of my characters have.

I may actually have to restart on Easy.

ALSO: for god's sake, what was wrong with spell names that told you what the spell did? How the fuck am I supposed to remember that "tarukaja" is attack up? If the tooltips are functionally mandatory at all times, you've missed the point of having names for things.

Happened to me. Go to work, come home, play too late, get up early and play til you're late for work. Turn the page, wash your hands.

What, the elemental spells and things? It's not to hard to remember the parts of names (taru means attack, raku means defense, -kaja means boost, -unda means reduction, etc). If you mean the status spells those are a little harder, i'll agree.

Okay.  I have not looked at a lot of P4 FAQs..  But I see that I can easily fuse much much higher level personas.  It's not possible to fusion up another one of my starting persona, is it?  Izinagi, or something like that.

Persona 3 had a feature that let you record the progress of any Persona for free and then shell out cash to get an instant copy of it at that level back, so that you could essentially use any persona for Fusion and immediately buy a fresh copy back without any lost progress.
Also Orpheus is fucking terrible and his spells cap out at like level 6 so no big loss
It came up after a bit of advancing the plot, so P4 may be similar!

It's called the Demon/Persona Compendium. Yeah, it's in just about every SMT with a gotta catch 'em all attitude.

I never had so much fun watching someone play a game then watching my friend play P4. Then we'd sit there and me and her would gossip about the characters and love interested and I'd feel like one giant homo.

My roommates keep doing the same thing! I stopped playing when they weren't around because they didn't want to miss stuff.

I know I can buy one back out of the compendium, but what I meant to ask was can I avoid having to manually level Izanagi by simply fusing a much much better version of him?  I haven't seen him pop up on the crafting list.

Welp, if P3FES is anything to go by, yeah, you should. I remember that you can fuse Orpheus.

I think you'd have to fuse together the the next two higher level Fool Personas.

No.

You can't fuse your starting Persona.

Yomotsu-Shikome - Obariyon fusion says otherwise.

I am in love with this game and it is going to destroy my life.  I`ve blown off deadlines and dates to play it this week.

I just wish these meddling kids would figure things out as quickly as I do.  When I
got the option to read a list of TV appearances on 06 06
just a minute ago I was laughing with joy that they`d finally got it.

Here comes Tanakaaaaa
Over the airwaves to youuuuu

I am addicted to the home shopping network.

Also: "So this is a strip joint, huh?"  "Strip?  Ohohoho, I know what that is!  It's the thing zebras have, right?"  Sometimes I feel like Patton Oswalt is writing Teddy's dialogue.
