Albus means "white" in Latin.

LATE POSTING!

I'm level 150 with my Shanny and screwing around even though the only thing left for me to get in this game is the Blackshadowman medal.

Here are some tips!

Leveling up: In the obstacle course, the first room with enemies has two Hammer Shoe Guys, they give you 1600 XP and like around 4000 with two Hippopotamusexpdoubling rings, I just stand on the entrance of that room and hit them with hammers until they die and go out then back again. It's faster to level up like this than by killing the Jumping Chinese Vampire over and over again.

Getting the medals: Since you don't want to get hit, just equip two Death rings and your stats will be off the hook. Fight them that way and you'll beat them fast. Doesn't work on Crab.

Rising weapon bonus stats: Equip two Master Rings (save all villagers twice) and find an area with Zombies or Ghouls. Albus's Big Ball Glyph raises dark and lightning at the same time, Nintensco raises light and fire, use those. Also, eat candy.

REVIEW OF GAME!

+ Variety of areas
+ Fun Castlevania gameplay
+ Shanny is a qt
+ Boss Battles
+ Yeti

- Shanny's sprite is ugly*
- Most areas are lame and short
- Music is forgetable
- Secret character mode is lame, doesn't have its own story
- Not enough secret areas

* Her hair and clothes are supposed to be black but then she has this ugly ass blue/brown costume with brown hair? Also, her running animation is weird, but it's a castlevania tradition... also, her face is a the "z" tetris block, seriously check it out.

Let's not say anything we can't take back now.

Although I agree that Shanoa's running animation is crazy weird.  It looks more like she should be wading through snow.

Water Music

Let's not say anything we can't take back now.

Oh yeah, both water areas have nice music, I just happened to forget about them when I wrote my shitty review...

Also, I wanted a whip Glyph. :(

I agree with what you're saying about Shanoa's sprite, but I think that's to make her stand out from the background.  Black hair and black dress might make it a bit hard to see her.

EDIT:

GOD.

DAMNED.

ALBUS.  :rage:

EDITEDIT: Oh hey.  So, I should be finding all the villagers by now? :hurr: :hurr:

I got sick of Empty Tome and all of its variants after running around Dracula's castle for a while.

Just buy the soundtrack and play it over a better game with weaker music, like uhhhhhhhhhh any part of Aria of Sorrow that isn't Castle Corridor or Heart of Fire.

Unrelated, but I didn't want to post it in either Babble or a new thread:

200.6% in SotN, after 2 months of 200.5%

Guess where the last room was!

GO ON, GUESS!
It was a room up and to the left of the inverted clock, containing a Heart Refresh :hurr:
35 Microsoft Penis Points!  :pimp: :approve:

...now if I could beat the inverted castle with Richter... :ohshi~:

Maybe you should play it over a good game with bad music instead of Aria of Sorrow

So this is the best handheld title.

Just finished it up a few minutes ago, Dracula
DID NOT HAVE A FINAL FORM?!?!?! wtf this is bullshit
but the difficulty of the fight made up for it. Almost.
First phase, is, of course, a simple waste of your time; the second phase is the part that counts and losing on it makes you replay phase 1 in punishment.
Anyway, the difficulty overall was good. Hard though it was, using clever tactics and glyphs made you prevail, and magically, you didn't feel cheap using "overpowered" equipment/glyphs, which is a welcome change from SotN's stupendously easy challenge. In OoE, you'd better exploit elemental/physical weaknesses, because otherwise you're in for a world of hurt.

You're incredibly powerful, but the enemies are also likewise terrible in their damage output and attack patterns, bosses especially. During the midgame the difficulty finally started to drop but as soon as you unlock Drac's abode it spikes upward again, and stays that way as you make your way through.

Still haven't cleared out the last two quests that require the Training Hall and Large Cavern, but I doubt I will maintain interest for much longer once I finish them and beat the cavern. Overall, A+ and would do business again.

Training hall is nice because i don't think you have to fight anything (?) and there's a Really Big Treasure at the end, so it's the only worthwhile way to farm some gems/medicine/armor.

The Large Cavern can fuck right off, if you ask me; it's cheap and boring at the same time. The one in Castlevania: PoRn at least had rooms that were interesting and fun in addition to the unending fuckery of DOUBLE FRANKENSTEIN
